How do I do Crucible???

So, I finally got to the crucible. I double checked my beastiary before hand to ensure my horns were assigned. I talked to the lady and took the challenge option. It loaded. I clicked "recommended" for the pet list. I scrolled down to node 1 with the two bones guys. I click challenge button, but it said I needed to assign pets to the horns. Okay, it's different here. So I brought up the horn dialog. It has three slots. Now, here's the problem.

I cannot left or right click the horns in the dialog. I cannot drag and drop a pet over. Right clicking a pet only give a "remove" option.

On my first try, I hit accept anyway, and got sent in with zero pets. Can someone PLEASE explain how to do these assignments? Otherwise, I'm completely stuck. Square is just AWFUL at designing intuiitive elements or even explaining stuff.

The pets you selected before going in should appear when you walk into the stage, like this:

I got that much. You misunderstood the question, though. There's still nothing assigned to the horns. Your world assignments don't work. The answer was: you LEFT CLICK a pet to assign it after bringing up the battlehorn dialog.

Still, I got in, beat the first room somehow after dying once, getting rezzed, then got stuck on the shield guy because he wouldn't put it down.

This event is absolutely horrible.

When you have a team and are inside the crucible about to fight a room, you left-click on the three beasts you want to bring into the room fight and the horns will be assigned in order.

I think you're giving up way too easily. it's not like you lose anything for leaving and re-entering...

I dunno if the first floor is challenging you this much I agree you should give up, because it does not get easier.

I'm old and retired. I'm just playing to fill time. I've had two massive strokes. My brain and body don't work like most. I solved the problem, got in, and managed to defeat the first room with about 3% health left. I don't have what it takes, mentally or physically, to bother continuing. But thanks for the encouragement.
