Wow, I don't think Yoshi would like this idea. I mean, you are essentially PL'ing yourself. Haha

If it's only used for a few things, like one-time XP gained from exploration/quests that are not repeatable in any way and we don't get new classes to use this XP on I feel like it would be reasonable. If we get new classes right off the bat in 2.0 then there's no need as everyone will have SOMETHING they can use the XP on. Otherwise all that XP is just going down the drain and will never be seen again.
No, he's not for "powerleveling" per se, he's for friends helping each other out if the higher level one has the time and will to level his friend quicker so that they can enjoy content together.
Yeah this doesn't exactly meet that description.
If it's quest EXP you're concerned about just switch classes before you complete it. I'm sure there will be some new classes at launch for you to get EXP on. The vast majority of folks don't have all their 50s completed and won't before 2.0. I just don't think this is a big concern. If it's only used for a few things, like one-time XP gained from exploration/quests that are not repeatable in any way and we don't get new classes to use this XP on I feel like it would be reasonable. The exp you would get from hours of exploration would probably take 5 mins to be gained by grinding mobs. Lol
Exactly. I certainly didn't level up my character in any other game *cough* Fallout *cough* by exploring places. Nor did I gain any signification amount of exp for doing so.
I explored the map for the achievements and, more importantly, the ability to teleport back there.
On the topic of surplus experience, what I wouldn't mind is for every X amount of xp you gain a certain amount of points, akin to how guild marks worked, if you remember them. Points that could be spent on temporary buffs, fireworks, or whatever. Nothing major, just small little things that can be used because you earned so much exp after the cap.
Tell you what, I'm in favour of this if I get all my Surplus exp from 2010 and 11 back.
I like this idea, if it was just for 1 time missions and such only. At least you're actually doing the mission and earning the experience unlike current powerleveling. Because honestly, how many people are going to choose a lower level job to do the new missions when they have access to a 50? Some will sure, but most won't. Plus it's nice for the people that have no DoW/DoM left to do them at a lower level. Could at least put the exp in a more tedious class like DoH or DoL instead of all that exp going "poof".
Though mind you I wouldn't put this at a very high priority either. Polish the game in every other way first. This would just be kind of nice to have more than anything.
