Reason I bring it up, I've seen (as we all have I'm sure) the numerous comments from YoshiP about exploration, how maps will be 'blank' until you've explored them and how experience gain will be more related to content in quests and such, rather than mob or leve grinding. So, reason would have it, that as we explore the new Realm, that exp would be attained.
Here's my thing about this though. Unless they raise the cap right at launch, many, if not all of us, will want to jump on our sturdiest 50s and go exploring, as to avoid being killed as we explore - unless you decide to conciously switch into a lower level class/job prior to zoning, I suppose would work.
So my thought was and I kind of assume its been brought up before, but just incase, what about experience storage, exp that cannot be directly used..gets set aside, in a que, to be unlocked when either the cap raises and we choose to apply it, or when we switch out to a class/job that Can use the exp, we can then apply it.
I'm not suggesting this for normal mobs/leves and such, that'd become too easily abused. But rather, the exp gained from one-time only experiences.
Thoughts?
A secondary thought on that, would be NPCs, sort of like the achievement ones - say, a guard for the respective city/region, by the zone line with the blue exclaimation mark above their head, to signify... congrats, you made it, here's your neatly ribboned package for getting here alive. So that we could avoid the exp gain from exploration unless we conciously change to a class/job that it would matter on.
I'll amend this OP with a minor note:
This is only IF they include exp points with map exploration. While I meant this as both map exploration AND quests, the latter can be avoided until a point you want to actually fulfill the quest completion on a class/job of your choice, otherwise the results are your own doing and no fault of SE's.
However, if map exploration does grant an exp bonus for the fact you've discovered a new place, that isnt something that can be avoided, its going to happen the moment you cross from point a to point b.
And yes, I do hope a class or two will be available upon launch, I may just as well go ahead and switch to a new class before crossing a zone line for that very reason.
