A full character wipe would solve that issue without any code changes.

I actually wouldn't mind if they did a full character wipe so you'd have to level all your characters jobs from lvl 1, I mean it's gonna be a new game so why not? Just have us keep the gear/gil/items we have in our inventory and characters.
