What "challenge" or "work" is involved with spamming an event a million times hoping to get lucky?

People seriously need to get with the times and stop equating time sinks with difficulty. Yes, time sinks are necessary in MMOs, no one is disputing that - but the tendency is to generally push it too far.

Even so, thankfully the current form of the quest is still far more lenient than XI relics ever were. I think empyreans have been the best so far in terms of striking a decent balance but XIV hasn't been all bad either. There's still room for improvement.

Seriously. There's hardly any skill involved except for the Primal and dungeon segments. Hamlet seals, double meld and dungeon segments if you don't get a 17 minute run (or so I hear, apparently there's a small chance) are all luck. It's not really as difficult as it is time consuming. Though for the double meld and hamlet seals you can replace luck with money lol.

Fraction leve has nothing to do with luck.
Darkhold has nothing to do with luck.
Spirit Bond has nothing to do with luck.
Caravan and behest has nothing to do with luck.
Beastmen coins has as much luck as every other farming
Killing the beastmen NM has nothing to do with luck (except you are in a PUG party who don't know how to fight them)
Killing Leve NM has nothing to do with luck

In a sense. Caravan is more so about luck because you don't always get the 1000 seal run. It's all about the number of mobs that spawn in this bit.

However all of these bit mentioned above, are actually, if anything, the easiest part of the quest. The Darkhold in 15 minutes is probably the hardest part of all those listed above, and it's not THAT challenging.

For the most part. Both CC and AV as well as Garuda and Ifrit Extreme are the only real road blocks that only takes a real skillful and dedicated group to get through.

Those parts take a lot of practice between the groups and continued persistent to get better. That's skill. The only part people were generally talking about was the Hamlet, which, you can't deny is pretty asinine.

Perhaps. I'm more looking forward to Extreme Ifrit because of both difficulty and the fact that it could be a fun fight. I'm really not worried about the difficulty of the quest really. Just the Hamlet that really makes me want to pull my hair out cause it took 100+ run for me to finally have seals dropping to me.

Then again, that's probably the game's way of punishing me for managing to pull 1/1 on the double melded Obelisk. >.>

Technically Hamlet is not a part of the quest. You only need it to get the quest.
