no. I'll step away.
no. I'll step away.
i may come back for 2.0
but it better god damn be good or im going to strangle the the ones in my closet
For the same reason I'd go to see an attraction the day before it was torn down and replaced with something new: because it's interesting and creates memories. I'd go even if I could only stand at the side and look at it, rather than interact with it. That's the kind of person I am.
The Online world isn't always so different from the real one. Not everyone is so detached from these things that they can't find enjoyment in the old, without promise of reward, before the new comes along.
I'm not saying I would play it hardcore for no reason.. but I might do a few things along the way if the servers were left up, things I wouldn't have normally gotten to do. If they go down, no big deal.

While none of you progress matters, it would be a perfect time to go everywhere and take pictures of everything that will be changed. Maybe do something that we use to do a lot, like fail the 3 BW leves or something
You may be thinking "but you can go do all that now". But now is not the best time, as you are still working hard on your saved character data.

Server marathon in Mor Dhona...anyone?
No need to worry about gear damage / repair.
I used to be Noomy...then i took shiva's Hail Storm to my knee...
I've got plenty of other games I can play during the down time so I'm not interested in logging in after initial shutdown.
However, I'm not opposed to them leaving the servers up for the people who do want to log in. If they are willing to do it, why not?
I think I'd use the time to collect images and videos of those things that won't make it into 2.0.
It might also be fun to try stuff like 5x melds, converting all gear to materia, Do experimental runs on endgame content, etc...
So yeah, I'd play after the save.
No, I'l take a break until v2.
I assume Yoshi-P is concerned players will leave the game like ending a relationship by not looking back.
Well, he could see about extending more alpha and beta opportunities down the line instead as that would be more useful in the long run to SE and to the players.
He could also start releasing more info about any apps or addon kits and start getting feedback as thats another way to keep players drawn in even if not logged on.
They could continue community events too. Maybe even "design an app or addon" contest so the devs can gather ideas themselves using the contest as a front ;x . I've spent whole weekends on the banner and ring contests, and others are working on the voiceover contest all the time.
I guess it might be also be time for a backcatalogue FF or Dragon quest marathon ;x
nooooooope.
I'll probably just take a break from the game during that time. I might mess around on occasion, though... Perhaps do a little roleplaying if any roleplayers on Balmung are on.
Rise Against - TorchesThe angels dance like feathers float, they're here to see and to be seen,
The clock strikes two, the music slows and each one slowly dons their wings,
Once outside they all pair off and hand in hand they leave
But I'm still waiting, yeah, and I'm still waiting
