I doubt that I will keep playing after that point, but I still say leave the servers up for awhile. If you don't want to play you don't have to but it could be opportunity for others to go do whatever else they didn't get to do before the servers went down. As long as everyone's well aware that your data won't be saved and there's no official support until 2.0 launches then I see no problem. I guess it depends on SE's overall revenue and if it may stall/hinder progress for 2.0's launch.

Sadly of course I still envision there being people who complain and fuss because their data isn't preserved after that point. Ultimately I guess it also depends on just how long they'll remain up for. Is it just until the 11th? Are they taking the servers offline on the 1st preventing all access until they ultimately pull the plug on the 11th? Or are they planning to run 1.0 simultaneously with 2.0 beta? If they can run both at the same time I say go ahead since it still allows those who can't get in to goof around.

If they do keep them online I say with the final maintenance reactivate the temporary emotes. Let's have a snowball fight wearing yukatas! Do the firedance while being pelted with snowballs! Let their imaginations run wild! Drop some mobs in the cities for people to gang up on and squash! Allow an NPC to randomly turn you into a monster and you can run amok. I guess it depends on how difficult it may be and if it requires extra programming to do. In any case, I'm rambling so yeah... Keep the servers up for others even if you may not use it yourself.
