Do you want to play after Character Data Save?

Nope, I don't think I'll be playing after the character save. If I did login it might just be to do something crazy like blow a bunch of gil on expensive gear just to play dress-up, and take a bunch of screen shots. xD

It is nice that the servers will be up for 10 days after the character save, just to give people that extra window of time to say goodbye, do silly things (woohoo, end if the world!) and contact their friends. But I wouldn't want the servers up longer, seems pointless.

Either that or doing the things I never managed to pull off before, even if it is just trying to punch a moogle in the face or something. You can still have fun if you can't save, ya know?

Ehh I won't be playing, barely play now anyway. I think people that want the servers to stay up so they can keep in contact with their friends and the community are dreaming. After a few weeks the servers will be a huge ghost town, especially when people start getting into the alpha/beta.

I'd like to carry on, I would explore areas I haven't bothered with yet and get some final screen shots of places I'm never going to see again as well as get together with friends and get some pics of our current selves. I think it will be fun to goof around without having to worry about raiding, hamlets or primals.

I also think it would be cool if SE opened up the closed off areas that are there but not open to the public, there are quite a few places I've wanted to explore but can't.

I think it would also be nice for people to say their goodbyes and maybe chat about getting back together in 2.0.

Not everything has to be super serious! "omg no saved game? what's the point?" it's a game, take some time off and just goof around with your friends!

Also they weren't asking if we want the servers to stay up the whole time beta is running, it would just be for an extra 10 days after the final save data is taken.

So many downers here, to some it may not be a waste if the data isn't saved. Personally I see no big deal in leaving it up if people do want to hang around still. There's plenty of ideas here to do. Try some crazy party setups, go fight Moggle Mog wearing a chocobo mask and yukata! Team Kweh vs Team Kupo! Hold a zerg-fest against those trees near Turning Point. Cram the Garlean stronghold in Mor Dhona with so many dead bodies the imperials will have to abandon it! Make a full round trip naked starting in one city, around Eorzea and back.

* Start in Ul'dah, traverse Thanalan until you reach the Black Shroud.
* Prance through the forest up into Coerthas.
* Skip your way through Mor Dhona and exit back into Thanalan.
* Cha-cha the path to the Ferry and head to Limsa Lominsa.
* Enter La Noscea and make an entire trip counter clockwise around the island until you reach Limsa Lominsa again.
* Take the ferry back to Vesper Bay in Thanalan.
* Jump off the ferry and make a dash to Ul'dah where it ends.

Each region has their own rule. For example in the Black Shroud you must first go find Phaia and poke him without being killed. Coerthas you've got to visit Camp Crooked Fork and do a lap around the Vigil nearby. Mor Dhona you have to dance behind a Rainbow Basilisk wearing a subligar or similar item. Coliseum loincloth counts too. In La Noscea you have to switch to a DoH/DoL job and use Stone Throw on the Great Buffalo. On your way back towards Ul'dah you must stop in front of Mosshorn, blow him a kiss, and make him chase you.
