Black screen

I just got a pc and was trying to play ff14 but when i launched the game the screen went black and i cant hear anything. i don't know my exact specs but my old laptop could run the game just fine and i know my pc has better specs so I'm just confused. i tried to uninstall it and redownload it and still didnt work

Thank you for your patience while we thoroughly investigate your concern and for the information provided. The team would like for you to try some suggestions that may remedy the 'Black Screen' issue you are experiencing:

- Launch the game through Steam.
- Log-in with your account details, but DO NOT press the "Play" button.
- While the launcher is on the screen where you can see the "Play" button, launch the 'Task Manager', and end the Steam process.
- After Steam has been forcibly closed, press 'Play'. The game should now work as normal.
