Every MMO on the market has RMT for that particular game for various things from money, to items, to power leveling, and so on. The picture is an unfortunate reminder, but it's far from being shocking or even a surprise. I don't think I really needed proof.. I just assume RMT is in any MMO that I play. I try not to think about it since there's not a lot I can do about it.

I'd like to know why whenever a player sees a bunch of characters with randomly designed names they assume they must be RMT? Has it ever occurred to people that these are characters created by traditional players or linkshells to quickly leve their own members. Maybe it's players trying to determine stats. Whatever it is... Most of them stand their doing nothing (@ cedarwood). And there is always a high profile ls player nearby (BGLS on Durandal).

    Still will violate terms.

It shoudl be obvious. Why? Well think about the gil generated by each new chracter and they can delte regenerate characters, run base quests, and genrate high gil from the rewards. Delete, reroll them fast. THose characters in my photo alone. Cna fast leve, run the payoff quests with 1 high level, and generate 800k each within a day of acceptable level.

THat thar party Will make about 5 million gil. WIth noticable 4 groups that guy will push 40 mil gil in that period.

Pushign more now wince FFXI was dropped to almost no cost with 30 day free trials.

You're right. It's generally not RMT. It's usually someone just farming Karakul fleece and crystals with mules.

Either way, it's still someone farming (breaking TOS or not). Not someone levelling their members. There are easier methods of PLing someone to 50.

I mean, I know that the ewe drop the skins/fleece, but is it really that valuable? I haven't been to the Market Wards in ages, so I don't know how much those drops sell for... I just wish that SE would destroy this Leve. Then the RMTs have to find something else to do...
Pretty much all 40+ cloth gear is Kfleece. It's pretty high in demand.

Actually I see this happening and highly funny that RMTer are doing this to hoard for 2.0, because on Nov 1.0 when they start changing our data to the new engine I think they will be looking for these kind of characters and either destroying them or the gil, or place them on a hold status till SE can verify identities of these RMTers and such. When the RMTers sign back on to start business all their gil will be gone. I mean they have to read all the data to transfer them and those characters will stand out like a sore thumb in the data rewrite.

    He hee...this thread got popular.

I'm not saying I want RMT to disappear. They are paying customers after all. They do affect the marketplace though...probably driving prices more down then up really. So for players it's not such a bad thing.

My main thing is just that I lose the immersion of the gaming world when I see a "player" named scramble me a random abc def name...and tons of them together in a group all dressed the same. It's sorta funny.

I'm just annoyed by the number massed in one spot. Beyond making the area laggy or disrupting a players flow of pay. Competing with RMT farming a spot is at times frustrating.

Please point out in the EULA where doing a massive amount of leves ad nauseum is a violation of terms. If anything, they are doing what tanaka and co originally expected us all to do.

Until they actually sell that gil they are making, they are just paying customers like you or I.

Those RMT should start reporting players for harassment. That would be hilarious.
