    Add More Character Movement Options

I just started playing this game today, and already ran into a big problem. I am physically disabled with very limited use of my hands to the point where I cannot type (I use voice recognition software to control the keyboard) , and I can only press the right mouse button and cannot hold down or use the scroll wheel on the mouse. As a result, I cannot move my character efficiently. I can tell my voice recognition to do the equivalent of hitting the keyboard keys for movement once, but have no way of telling it to do the equivalent of holding down the keyboard movement keys, so using this method, I can only move my character a few steps at a time, which is too slow to get most places. I cannot move my character by holding down the scroll wheel button and moving the mouse, and what I thought was a key to start my character auto-running (R or Numpad 7) doesn't seem to do anything. Can the developers do anything about this? I have been playing World of Warcraft for 6 years, and in that game, the number lock key, which I can use through voice recognition, start your character auto running and then you can control your characters direction of movement by holding down the right mouse button, which I can do. Also, there is an optional click to move ability where you can move your character just by right clicking on the in game ground when the option is enabled. With both these functions in World of Warcraft, I can do everything in game relatively well and efficiently to the point where I regularly raid and run dungeons. I would love to see these functions in final fantasy XIV. I have been an avid fan of final fantasy for years and would love to be able to play the game, but right now, I cannot, and will have no choice but to cancel my subscription at the end of my 30 day free trial. With the revamp of this game for version 2.0, it would be a great chance for to developers to add these functions to allow the disabled members of the community to play this great game. If not, I might even have to consider asking for my money back.

    Wall of text TL;DR

Also, u can probably tell it to press W and R at the same time.
It MAY make you auto run... Dont know how the program will do the pressing though

Also, in 2.0 they said they will make a very customizable keyboard. That should help quite abit

An option for Mouse Movement would be nice too.

But yeah, as the previous poster said, you may have to tell it to press R while "holding" down W somehow. You should be able to reassign the autorun button to something more accessible as well.

Maybe to change the movement keys to the numblock could help.
Aren't there some mouses with special buttons for MMOs where you can have the WASD buttons direct on the mouse?

FFXIV does have an auto-run key if I remember right. It's a little awkward to use compared to WOW, however.

There is no click to move right now though.

I actually did try to reassign the AutoRun key, but it either wouldn't let me, or if it did, it still didn't work by saying the proper keystorke command of numlock to the voice recognition, maybe the game has problems receiving the keystroke commands from the voice recognition. As far as holding down the W and R keys, or pressing down W and hitting R, I cannot use a keyboard and the voice recognition has no command for holding down any key (which I understand is a design flaw with the voice recognition and not the game). Also, the game seems to ignore keystroke commands from the voice recognition, possibly because it doesn't receive the commands well from the voice recognition. As far as using a MMO mouse with the WASD commands on them, I would have to find a mouse in which I was able to hit all the mouse buttons in various places, and have the mouse itself the light enough for me to move it, which I found to be very difficult to find. On the similar note, someone suggested I use a game pad controller but I have long since lost the ability to use any game pad controllers with a joystick

The key assignment menu is extremely counter intuitive. You actually have to make sure they key you're trying to assign doesn't actually do anything else, before you can give it a new definition. But seeing as you can't hold the button, that idea is out the window :|

As for a mouse recommendation, I suggest a Razer NAGA. It has 17 assignable keys. Now that I think about it, you can very easily make a 1 handed configuration with it. It is also available for Left Handed users as well. No left handed version yet, but it's coming in 2013

If you're interested, this is the mouse.

If you check it out, a somewhat plausible design would be like this:
    2 - move forward
    4 - strafe left
    6 - strafe right
8 - move back (and cancel autorun)
    5 - autorun
    1 - tab
    3 - F8 (target nearest NPC)

7, 9-12, and the two extra buttons could be anything you wanted, assuming you can't access everything else with your voice.

with this set up, you'd just have to press 5 while holding down 2 to autorun.

Also, I noticed you made this thread like 5 times xD

I don't know much about this program but it is a script program that has the ability to assign a key, that which, once "pressed" or activated it will "Hold" it until it is "Pressed" or deactivated, all this does is override a tap with a tap->hold, it's a bit over my head to be honest with you, i'm just hoping i'm pointing you in the right direction (one that isn't some sort of macro'ing) http://www.autohotkey.com/community/index.php

It's called auto hot key. Windows had a feature built in called "Sticky Keys", i can't remember if this ignored keys held down or held down keys... i really can't remember but there are some options under (Windows 7) Start > Control Panel > Ease of Access > Change how your Keyboard works

Hope it helps, if i find anything else i will come right back.
