Black mage changes

Just a returning player wanting to say the new astral fire is terrible.
Shorter cast times are fine because they allows to use the same gears for the other caster, more mobility options are ok-ish(maybe needed in newer raids? idk), but the permanent astral fire/umbral ice really kills the feeling of playing black mage.
No more pressure, no more planning, just pushing the button.
I know they won't revert anything, so... what did old blm players switch to?

You could swap to RDM I guess, but to be honest, dropping astral fire was never a concern for me when it existed unless there's hard downtime. Its also really nice that you can stay in fire on downtime/transitions so you don't have to do a bunch of jank any time a boss becomes untargetable

I tend to bounce around between RDM and SAM. If you only played early dawntrail SAM was absolutely atrocious but now it's pretty fun to play. Easy but not super braindead. I don't love it like I loved EW BLM but I'm feeling pretty 8/10-ish which is more than I can say for most dawntrail jobs lol

I actually liked the longer tendo midare. Definitely wasnt enough to be atrocious
