The problem is that every job which gets added in the future (just like Bastion) will not have access to a relic weapon and will be at a disadvantage when playing OC compared to other jobs.2. The relic has no special effect in the Occult Crescent.
The Eureka weapons provided additional power within Eureka and the fact that the phantom weapons do not have some kind of boost in OC is a missed opportunity. Such boost could have been something like 15% haste to spice up rotations for those willing to play the game a bit differently than normal instead of an expected +5 special attribute boost.
It’s a good thing not to answer your enemies. I scarcely ever do. Perhaps Emily is more like me than I am like myself. Perhaps she would rather not answer her friends, even. She keeps it all in her heart.
This is already the case in Eureka and when going for BiS for older Ultimates for newer jobs that did not have a relic in that specific expansion.
I mean, you've been playing in OC a LOT if you're on the last step, so it's nice to be able to go out and do something else to populate this content when it's no longer that relevant for people that are on the end of the endgame.we have to do ALL the content from DT in the last step. including optional dungeons, a-raids and normal raids which are basically optional (there are probably people who need to unlock them just for the relic.)
including fates and overworld enemies.... but what about oc? i guess thats no DT content xD

Probably a hot take but I think that's actually a good thing.
"Forcing" people to do that content without making it mandatory like CT might actually help roulettes and the MSQ in the long run.
If f.e. 70% of players do Arcadion instead of 30% it would be easier for them to reference it in the future.
It's imo a good and needed soft push for some people and might be part of a solution to finally get things like Eden used more in the story going forward.
I kinda liked the final relic step even as someone who prefers to do those things in OC.
Felt like a victory lap and a "lessons learned" from the old book step.
honestly the final step was fun and I hope they take notes for future relics. I really genuinely enjoy having a good chunky grind forcing me into various pieces of content I wouldn't otherwise be doing & without any time gating.
really my only issue with these relics as a whole is the constant tome dumping and that you could do everything as any job. would have much preferred somewhat smaller grinds but make me repeat them for each job, requiring the relic be equipped to make progress.
but I know I'm weird in that regard lol.

Can anyone share if you have to do the final step in order? I haven't started it yet since I'd rather be in OC but it seems like I have to do the books/memories in order? Dreading going to the zones.

Nope, can do the content in any order you wish.
Myself
Normal Raids
FATES/Monster "hunting"
"Expert" Dungeons
Levelling Dungeon
Trials
Alliance Raids
Not being able to queue for different types of content due to party size was a drag (e.g when I was to 4 normal raids I couldn't shift to dungeons).
Probably missing a step there.
Edit : Can also uses Trusts/Duty support to get the Trials/Levelling/Most Experts done too if preferred.

That's great news! I couldn't seem to figure out how to view other memory nodes but I'll play around with that more.Nope, can do the content in any order you wish.

Overland Fates are among my least favorite content so I'll be more motivated to do them last when my reward is closer.

I loved the last step of the relic.
I just hate the Reaper weapon's colors.
A dark and foreboding job with bright pink and teal colors feels a little weird.
You need to click the little crystals on the left side of the panel, trying to click the tabs on the right side won't switch for some reason. It's a questionable UI decision, but relatively minor.
