    Since days 90002

    Good morning,

Ukhisteysubuh asked me to please start a new thread on this topic, which I am doing here.

    What’s this about?
For the past few days, my wife and I have been getting logged out over and over again on two different PCs due to error 900002!

Mostly in the middle of dungeons, but it also happens constantly in the open world.

We just got a new router from MDCC Citycom 14 days ago. And we can run videos in the background while playing without any issues—they never get interrupted, but FFXIV always does!

I’ve also tried to get help on the German forum, but haven’t even received a reply yet—which I find pretty frustrating...

    Our details:
    2 PCs
    1 Gbit LAN + 2.5 Gbit LAN
    Windows 11, 25H2 (26200.8875)
Internet service provider: MDCC Germany, Magdeburg, Saxony-Anhalt
    NO VPN!
FFXIV is given free to use in my AV!

I would really appreciate it if this problem could be resolved.

Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

We appreciate you reaching out to us about the issue you are currently experiencing. We apologize for the delay in responding to your concern and completely understand how important a smooth gaming experience is.

To help us determine the best way to assist you further, could you please let us know if you are able to try the following troubleshooting steps?

    • Restart Network Equipment: Power cycle your router and model (unplug for 5-10 minutes) to clear out outdated data.
    • Check Firewall/Antivirus: Ensure that FFXIV is whitelisted in your security software.
    • Use a VPN: A VPN can help bypass unstable ISP routing nodes which often solves 90002 series errors.
    • Switch Data Centers: Temporarily changing data centers from the main menu and then switching back can sometimes bypass the issue.

Please let us know if you have already performed these troubleshooting steps and are still experiencing the same error.

    Good morning,

    • Restart your network devices: Turn your router and modem off and then back on (unplug them for 5–10 minutes) to clear out stale data.
I’ve already tried this several times, but it doesn’t really help...

    • Check your firewall/antivirus software: Make sure FFXIV is on the whitelist in your security software.
I already mentioned in my description that I’ve set this up ^^

    • Use a VPN: A VPN can help bypass unstable routing nodes from your internet service provider, which often resolves 90002-series errors.
VPNs also cost money, and in Germany, they’re not exactly cheap. I don’t have one, and I don’t want to pay extra for it either—sorry. Free VPNs are unfortunately severely limited in data volume; I’d quickly hit the limit and then have to pay anyway. That’s not a viable option for me—I’m sorry.

    • Switch data centers: Temporarily switching data centers via the main menu and then switching back can sometimes work around the problem.
Yeah, obviously not. I’ve already tried that...

In the meantime, I’ve set the launcher to ALWAYS run as ADMIN, which has greatly reduced the 900002 errors. They haven’t gone away completely, and now 900001 errors have started popping up as well...

Thank you for your detailed reply and for letting us know which troubleshooting steps you have already attempted.

We understand your frustration, especially after already trying many of the commonly recommended solutions. We also appreciate the additional information regarding the launcher being run as Administrator and that doing so appears to have reduced the frequency of the disconnects, even though the issue has not been completely resolved.

Since you are now encountering both error 90002 and error 90001, which are generally related to a loss of communication between the game client and the game servers, we would like to gather some additional information and have you try a few further troubleshooting steps:

    • Temporarily disable IPv6 on the affected PCs and test the game again. In some cases, IPv6 routing issues can cause intermittent connection problems.
    • If possible, test the game using an alternate internet connection, such as a mobile hotspot, to help determine whether the issue may be related to the current network path.
    • Check your router settings for any features such as Quality of Service (QoS), traffic prioritization, gaming acceleration, security filtering, or intrusion prevention, and temporarily disable them for testing purposes.
    • Verify that the router is running the latest available firmware version provided by your internet service provider.
    • Since running the launcher as Administrator appears to have improved the situation, please also temporarily disable any antivirus network filtering or web protection features and test again.

Additionally, if the disconnect occurs while testing, please let us know whether both PCs disconnect at the same time and whether you observe any packet loss or timeout messages during a continuous ping test.

We look forward to your results and will be happy to review them with you so we can continue investigating the cause of these disconnects.

    hello.

    thanks for you help.

    so, here we go

    • Temporarily disable IPv6 on the affected PCs and try the game again. In some cases, IPv6 routing issues can cause temporary connection problems.
It worked for about 30 minutes, then I got disconnected.

    • If possible, test the game using an alternative internet connection, such as a mobile hotspot, to determine whether the issue might be related to your current network path.
Unfortunately, I don’t have that option.

    • Check your router’s settings for features such as Quality of Service (QoS), traffic prioritization, gaming acceleration, security filters, or intrusion prevention, and temporarily disable them for testing purposes.
This is a cable TV router. I’m not allowed to change any settings on it. I could access the menu, but I don’t know how to use it, and it wouldn’t make a difference anyway. The provider resets these devices to their default settings every night.

    • Make sure the latest available firmware version from your internet service provider is installed on the router.
I can’t check that. However, the provider installs the latest firmware/software every night during the reset.

    • Since running the launcher as an administrator appears to have improved the situation, please also temporarily disable all network filtering and web protection features in your antivirus program and run the test again.
Unfortunately, I’m not sure how to go about doing that.
It’s the built-in Windows features that are running and providing protection here. I’m at a loss as to how that would work… I’m sorry.
What I did find, though, is an anti-spyware program, which I’ve temporarily disabled. The test is still running, though. I’ll get back to you later to let you know the results.

    Update:
No, even disabling the software/monitoring tools doesn't help.
I was logged out again even after doing that. My wife, who did NOT install these programs, was also kicked out at the same time.

I'm at a loss and am getting pretty frustrated by now. Because even the provider says it's NOT their fault...
