A new thread is better for a thorough discussion of the OP's proposal. Large threads don't lend themselves well to debating a singular idea.Originally Posted by Yoshi-P

Ahh... the thread is called Open discussion on the consequences of death :P
Exactly. If you put forth your idea in a thread where 20 people are already posting their ideas, you might get one or two responses.. and a thorough investigation into that idea may never be realized.
This thread allows us to get into the details of why or why not the OP's specific idea is legitimate. To Yoshi-P, this thread would mean a little bit of "This penalty is weak!" in addition to "Do something else!"

Thank you. Pretty much exactly what I would have said.
Then a mod may come along and close your thread stating "There is already a thread for an open discussion on this topic" as they have done in the past. just saying. Still wont be sp/exp loss on death
That thread is not official. And as already pointed out, this thread has a different purpose than the other thread. The other thread is an "open discussion". This one is a specific suggestion and meant to talk about only this idea. It's also in a completely different section, so there is no reason to close it.
I would appreciate if you don't post here anymore, as you are not contributing anything to the discussion, as requested in the OP.
I did contribute. I said no to exp/sp loss, long time ago.
Because Yoshi-P's idea is WAY better than yours and by far the most rational. Besides why be so fixated on a DP? I rather have enemy encounters be more difficult and involve more strategy. With a harsh DP the difficulty of some battle content would have to be lowered. Also without a harsh DP, parties are a little more lax, so no major stress. I think a really good idea would to have some battles be done once a day or week. If your party was wiped out, you can't try that battle out again until a day or week from then. That could provide some challenge to the hardcore players.

Stay away from losing xp on death because no one wants that, if you're looking for a good penalty for death you need to stick with the basics, because it is a penalty just having to run back to where you died at.
You know what. Actually I think we should have to just stop playing for the reset period if we die, and have to wait til next reset to be able to attack again ^^. That also servers as SP loss.
