They made things worse on the failure part by taking so long to deliver part 2. I nearly forgot that it was a thing as we got part one nearly 1.5 years ago. Eureka and Boja had a much better content pipeline. As I speculated in another thread, I believe this will be the last of the field zones as they move on to other formats.Honestly I think OC is a semi failure in their eyes in terms of player engagement and their own execution of not having a normal mode for the raid. That alone put off many players to give up on the content. Who knows, this time tomorrow we could all be blown away with how amazing the content is.

It's one of the very patches which has nothing that is catching my interest.
I felt so bummed out on Occult Crescent that I don't even have half the classes leveled there, neither I was able to enter the Forked Tower.
This is such a blunder from SE after Eureka and Bozja.
Yeah South Horn was a total fail. What's the point of leveling jobs just for the purpose of leveling jobs? It's one of the very patches which has nothing that is catching my interest.

Looks like North Horn is more of the same. I'll do it and clear the normal tower and that's gonna be it I'm afraid.
Judging from the patch notes definitely more of the same. If there were new gimmicks it would be mentioned in the notes. It's also wild how even though the resources to make TT shoudl be simple they didn't release a single new Triple Triad Card with this update. The bare of the bare minimum and they can't even do that much.

LOL, even the Devs admitted that it's been too long by adding a "recap episode" quest just to remind people what happened in the zone before you go back in. /shakes_headThey made things worse on the failure part by taking so long to deliver part 2. At this point I think they purposefully made OC a copy/paste (in terms of timers, fates, etc. not of landscape) just so people wouldn't ever ask for it again.
Anyway there's a new PVP season so I'll see you guys in a few months <3
"We want bunny suits for guys!" -- OK! ✅

The menacing aura of every Lalafell.

i didnt like the raids i work on my house it more fun but i see no houseing items again grrr

Tbh, i think the story part itself isnt even the worst. Its the feeling of progression thats missing.Sadly I think that sums up the content, a flimsy narrative that will be wrapped up if anyone actually remembers what happened, more Phantom Jobs to level up but as of now still no way to say equip 2 Phantom Jobs and have some flexibility in your loadout when using them, we'll have 24 Phantom Jobs but will only be able to use 1 at any given time. I definitely don't see this version of Field Operation lasting too long unless they actually add something that entices players to play through it. I might casually max out the Phantom Jobs but unless there is something that really draws my attention I don't see myself grinding this aside from at least completing 2-3 Relic weapons.
Just looking at eureka and comparing the good and bads there:
- Eureka had hazards, while most of these are worth to be ignored later on, for solo exploration these hazards were a real threat. Leveling felt useful. Note that things like 'going to a CE to participate in one' is a downgrade compared to Bozja, but compared to eureka its not a bad system per se. But that only works if the traveling has a meaningful danger, and this is where OC failed. The bozja system would have absolutely no diffirence to players in OC (except being more convenient). Yet in eureka that system would be bad.
- More zones. More to unlock. Even bozja had area restrictions within a zone. Restricting where people can go does force people to level further and progress the story.
- No consumable system, phantom jobs were a good replacement for that
- Phantom job leveling is a chore. Especialy when going for the extremes. Why force such a grind for this?
- South horn had a bad upgrade system (it required the extreme raid). This doesnt benefit casuals. Eureka has a very long upgrade path for casuals. North horn did it better and felt quite similar to eureka as its not locked behind an extreme.
- Not enough events. 1 fate and 1 CE at a time, where CEs can have gaps of minutes. Sure, eureka also could have gaps, but there is a compensating factor: The flaw in event spawning is compensated by community interaction. A significant one. Its what drives the hunt as well. This lack of events is what makes OC feel realy bad. The fate spawn rate should at least have been tripled.
If i would have changed 3 things in OC it would have been:
- Phantom jobs are not restricted in extreme. You can always select all. No need for any unlocking (and the bonus for max lvl would also not be applied).
- Phantom xp would be used to purchase new jobs. And each job would still only have limited xp, so you are forced to change jobs to get more. Now you can enjoy a max lvl job at least!
- Convert most CE's to fates, make those a lot more common, and have some extra special CE's that reward the raid currency.
