Wrinkles on my taru, do not want.
I am wondering this as well for the same reasons mentioned above. I want to know how to plan out the RP on my characters for 2.0.
Rise Against - TorchesThe angels dance like feathers float, they're here to see and to be seen,
The clock strikes two, the music slows and each one slowly dons their wings,
Once outside they all pair off and hand in hand they leave
But I'm still waiting, yeah, and I'm still waiting
Here
This thread discusses in nauseating detail. Conclusion: no one knows.
edit: oh. RP thread. my bad X_X. Same conclusion tho... xD

count how many years will it take inside eorzea and figure it out
a year in erozea is 18 days 16 hours irl so i'd say around 1.5 year
well from what the dev originally said a while back, players finishing events in 1.0 will be recognized in 2.0 for what they did, this may not directly mean that they are legendary or famous but could just mean NPCs from 1.0 who survived recognize them in 2.0 eg, The Generals, Cid, ect.
Also i think some of the regular NPCs of the Lancer Guild are also shown standing around during the test vid that was released a week back so it may not be that long in the future. Personally i hope it is very long into the future cause i want to feel like my Char carries weight / is important in 2.0 :x
ermmm think you didn't read OP's post. Was not asking about rl time when will we have it in our hands to play, it was asking how much time passes in game from the events of 1.0 to 2.0.

the story is so similar to the manga/anime fairy tail that i bet any money, it's 7 years in the future.

always looking for good people.
I hope its longer instead of shorter. Say 25 years instead of 1-7. I am hoping its not years before we have to find out though, AM I RIGHT!? (Nyuk Nyuk, /em elbow nudge)
Thank you for the responses so far. It seems like there is no definite answer yet to this question, but a lot of interesting speculation about how long our characters may be in cryostasis (figuratively speaking of course).
There doesn't seem to be any evidence yet to support whether or not the various NPC's also get preserved and make that shift forward in time with us. If that's the case, it's entirely possible we all could make a leap 500 years into the future along with Cid and the others and just kind of pick up where we left off.
Another question that this presents would be whether new characters created after ARR expected to have been born in that realm's timeframe and ignorant to the events of 1.0 that led up to the fall of Dalamud and everything (apart from history lessons or what have you).
Personally I am indifferent to whether it's 5 months or 500 years and will be perfectly happy either way. But, as has been suggested by some of the other role-players who have responded, their plans post-ARR may hinge heavily on how long or short this span of time is. For myself, I've enjoyed following the story so far and I'm mostly just curious, and wondering such thing as whether we can expect to see some aged versions of some of the NPC's that may not have made the jump forward with us.
While it is fun to speculate on this and I certainly don't mind waiting for the release of ARR to find out, I do hope that the Devs can get an answer for us and give us a little spoiler here.![]()
“If you are patient in one moment of anger, you will escape a hundred days of sorrow.”
I for one would like to know for backstory reasons. I have an extensive plot in the makings for my character post-2.0 based on events that occured during this unknown time skip. But the main reason I want to know is to plan out what happened to my character's friends and adoptive family. Heck, some of my character's younger friends (providing they survived Dalamud) may be old enough to actually create as alts by then.
Come on SE~! Tell us~! I'll give all of you cuddles if you do~ big snuggly cuddles! You all like cuddles, right?
