Thread: Time jump between 1.0 and ARR - how long?

I searched and skimmed through several pages and apologize if this has already been asked/answered.

Has there been any statement about how much time is expected to lapse between the end of 1.0 and the start of A Realm Reborn? By this, I don't mean the time it takes to transfer the data to the new hardware, but rather the in-game passage of time that will take place after Meteor [presumably] falls, before we're unleashed into this new world. The trailer suggests that we'll be preserved as time passes, and the new screenshots suggest that there's been a notable passage of time for the land to kind of repair itself, but I haven't heard anything has been said about whether it will be a few months, a few years, decades, centuries, etc?

Many from the RP community on Balmung are particularly curious about this in order to help plan the transition of their characters' and their respective stories, but I can certainly see how anyone captivated by the story would be interested to know just how far into the future we're about to be thrust.

If this hasn't already been addressed, is it something that a community rep could inquire about for us? Thank you!!

Maybe 20 years after. You can rebuild many things in 20 years.

Literally, your real reaction to the jump would be the same as your character's because it would be unexpected and you would be doing a big "huh?"

As Eva said, it's mostly for our planning for roleplay. We know that the character's reaction would be, as you said, "huh?!" but.. there are people in the community who are debating aging their characters rather than going with the time jump in their RP (survivors), and they certainly couldn't do that if it turns out to be 100 years later.

I really hope someone from the Dev team can give us this little bitty spoiler!

Agreed. I would like to know because I've been considering playing my character's descendant if it's far enough in the future.
