My god people, why don't you think things through and look at options before getting all pissed off about it. Here's a great way they could do it to satisfy everyone:

-First death = loss of SP + weakness. A portion (or even all) can be bought back using Gil or possibly Anima.
-Second death while still under weakness (or within a time frame) = Lose more SP + double weakness. Originally lost SP cannot be bought back.
-Third death (maybe not necessary) = Permanent loss of SP (no buyback), double weakness, loss of Anima.

And keep in mind, under this proposed system, you would not delevel... lowest you could go is 0 XP (with possible XP debt). Aion does a system similar to this and it works pretty darn well.

I like this option I think it should only be payable with anima since everyone seems to care more about anima than gil. Brilliant idea!

Edit: So people can choose what's more important that moment their anima or their SP.

Cool. I'll put a dev tag on it and post it in Battle mechanics I guess.

I am in favor of players sucking it up

I am in favor of noobs going back to playing crappy games like FFXIII

I am in favor of losing SP/EXP when dying

I am strongly against rewarding people for stupidly putting themselves in danger since there's no risk or penalty

Don't bother adding a dev tag, it's double thread. it has been answered in another thread that there will not be any SP loss.

Really was exp a penalty in XI?

I never thought about exp loss in XI unless we were talking 40k+ in the space of an event... only after that amount was I in danger of a delevel. And the first thing I would do is go and get that buffer back.

You do what you do to get the job done. I have happily shed 20k exp zombie-ing a NM with only RR1 after a wipe while waiting for members to job change / arrive etc without a seconds hesitation. The only penalty for me is when a God / Jailer / ZNM depops, or a timeout in BCNM / Limbus / Dyna / etc as nobody was in a position where they can safely RR.

Exp loss barely even registers in comparison in those situations.

As far as I can tell
Not currently planning on having a loss of SP/XP at this point in time
Means not at this time, not forever. Also I noticed them asking us to keep discussing it.

If it did not bother you in XI it won't bother you here. so you don't care either way?
