Extreme Frame Rate Loss

Not sure if anyone has been experiencing this but I've gone from running 100fps at highest settings to a shocking 17-22fps on the lowest settings...

It's incredibly frustrating since my partner is playing without issue.

I've tried everything. Updated drivers, restarting computer. Turning everything off with only the game playing. Nothing seems to improve it...

I could swear it was an nvidia setting or something its been a while since it happened to me man but try this:

Change it to fullscreen from windowed. That worked last time. I mean its temporary while you figure it out but hopefully it lets you play. The other thing that it could be that I vaguelly recall is if its a laptop they switch between onboard graphics and dedicated to save power but there is a way to force an application to use the actual GPU.

When the setting for reduced CPU load when inactive is enabled 17-22fps is what the game limits itself to when it is not the active window. Not to say that is what's happening, I think it's more likely you're dealing with Windows shenanigans or CPU thermal throttling (the first would show up in task manager as an abnormal CPU load and the second would be visible as the CPU under high load but running very low clock speeds). I raise the game's internal limiter because it does exist, it limits to that fps range and bugs do happen for no apparent reason.
