This is 1 of the easiest mmorpg to get into the blue quest are there so players are just thrown into the world and he completely lostHi everyone
so i just cleared main story after defeating Gaias and the amount of blue quests i received is scary !!
i have severe OCD where i have to clear quests or i feel something is wrong with my progression..
can someone explain to me what is important and what is ok to ignore quest wise ?
am only interested in gear progression and power creep.
my main character is a tank warrior on Alpha server.
really any hints are greatly appreciated.

So there are 2 quest chains that you must complete at some point to continue out of the post ARR story and into the HW expansion. The first quest line goes through the Ifrit, Titan, and Garuda trials and unlocks the version in the Trials Roulette. These are referred to as "hard mode" fights, but theyre more or less the fights you already did in 4 man parties expanded to full 8 man excursions. There are also "extreme" versions of each of these fights available, but those are optional. The other required quests to advance open up the Alliance Raid Roulette. Alliance Raids are completed with 3 groups of 8(1 tank 2 heals 5 dps each). They are big flashy fights, but on average the difficulty level isnt much higher then normal MSQ dungeons. And having a minimum of 6 people along who can res means that in practice they tend to be low stress with only a few specific fights being considered hard by the community.
Completing those 2 blue quest lines along with your MSQ is all the game will require you to do to move forward. As others have said, a lot of the blues you saw were optional dungeons(if i remember right, there are like 15ish of them available to you at level 50). If you need a break from the story, grabbing and clearing one or two of those is a fine change of pace. The game also has 8 man raids, but the ARR one is only available at the hardest difficulty level. If you wish to clear these for the story, going unsynced is the preferred method for the community(you either wait until youre higher level, or you get 1-2 high level friends to bring you through) but you can find people who do them the original way if you try hard enough. From the Heavensward expansion and going forward, these raids all have a "story" difficulty along with the "savage" one, and people do the story versions all the time. The quest to look out for that starts the ARR raid series is this one. Use this information to avoid or seek out these fights as you see fit.
But the best hint i can give is to take a deep breath, and go at your own pace. And this forum in particular is a good one to come to seeking advice or answers to any further questions you come accross. Happy hunting!
