i'm tired of playing Neko Fantasy 14 and i think bringing back the old Race traits is a great way to even out the races either that or the developers can quit being horny toads and give the same details they give mi'qote, to all races.

Then they'll just give stats out in favor of miqo'te. So even MORE people will play miqo'te.
Because that's what happened in XI. I always heard the bullshit excuse that people played miqo'te "because they have good stats for the jobs I wanna play!".
That's a piss poor reason to pick a race. Pick a race because you enjoy it.
Miqo'te aren't the only race who get "detail". FYI.
I'm against it, but at the same time it doesn't bother me.
However regarding the guardian we choose while customizing our character. One of the newest quest made us pray, and I remember getting a ring from the guardian that I'm under. It seems each guardian deity has different stats on the rings. I'll like to know more about the direction the devs are going regarding the 12, because it would add more uniqueness if our guardian actually do something for us.
Not at all, in fact I think it would make the races feel more special and not just a skin to wear.
Exactly.Personally, I hated the huge STR loss for being Miqo'te in XI, but it still gave a sense of pride to overcome it. People like that sort of thing. A small racial difference would be nice. Either that, or maybe just racial traits like a bit more range for a miqo'te Archer or something.
Now, race descriptions are obviously different ... for example:
"The Dunesfolk can be found on the scorching sands of Thanalan and other such arid areas. As the founders of the merchant city of Ul'dah, they are famous for their obsession with commerce. A natural inclination to transform ideas into action has served the Dunesfolk well in their business dealings."
So they should have some kind of bonus, let's say to CHR, or some kind of "race trait", capable to influence the commerce (in FFXI chr and fame made a slight difference on Npcs prices)
Or:
"Though many live the life of farmers, it is not uncommon to see Plainsfolk residing in Limsa Lominsa, holding positions in the navy or working in the fisheries."
Bonuses as DoL maybe?
"Compared to their Midlander brethren, the Highlanders are noticeably larger in build and musculature."
So how can highlander base STR be equal to a midlander?
I would like to see even little differences, maybe just to justify the clans ...
Or at least, It could be nice to remove the "points allotment" for different classes ... how can my Marauder with 500 str, 500 vit, 1 mnd, 1 int instantly become the super plus ultra white mage, or black mage?
"I like the stars. It's the illusion of permanence, I think. I mean, they're always flaring up and caving in and going out. But from here, I can pretend... I can pretend that things last. I can pretend that lives last longer than moments. Gods come, and gods go. Mortals flicker and flash and fade. Worlds don't last; and stars and galaxies are transient, fleeting things that twinkle like fireflies and vanish into cold and dust. But I can pretend."
Have race-based stat differences and then have point allotments. You have the option of boosting stats you already excel in or need for your job, or you can choose to boost the deficiencies based on race. Point allotments are per job, so you'd only really be missing those few points of whatever you're missing for one job maybe two. And you can add point allotments to make up for it.
LotRO gave racials too and did a good job at it.
/offtopic rant - sorry
LotRO much like FF11 much like Everquest just need a character model and graphics upgrade. Can't be done, lazy Dev? Tell it to EVE Online.
Haha! I love your example, I also pictured for the Roegadyn, him/her just running through the wall!I´m againts bonuses and I propose specific races related events in the main storyline, like lalafells going trought a tiny hole in the second scenario quest while hyur convice the guard to let him in or the Mi´qote use their agility to reach an open window ect, being short but differents and fun paths to the end of the quest, with fights that are suited for 1-2 players and fun puzzles to solve where you can gain bonus exp, guil or items if you do it right or in an specific way.
