First and foremost - Samurai needs update in its animations. special update to iajutsu.
whole point of samurai is get to use Iajutsu to have really powerful moves. personally do not feel it does enough damage or the animations aren't smooth enough..
Samurai iajutsu is based on real-life concept of Iai-Quick-draw. and powerful slice while katana is still in its shift. however its way smoother however in actually battle no way a someone who practices kendo would stand completely still while doing it like final fantasy 14 however Iai-quick-draw has tons of flaws. one cant just recklessly use it not actually kendo techinque. too flashy and leaves you exposed
Katana moves are like series of dance moves that stack on top of each other. that flow seamlessly into the next. -kate- and -kendo- are two different arts
-kate- is what you see in movies they use big dramatic slices however is extremely unrealistic in a real fight its not actually a fighting techinque its actually a art form art of showmanship. watch compale to the veiwer. kendo- or kenjustsu is actually use of katana. watch do not have big dramatic slices those would be consitered a tabou in kenjutsu. instead we use smaller more graceful actions that aren't flashy but are devestating. those who grip the halt of katana is not firmly but gently so have better control. samurais in ff14 actually to keen to kate then actual kenjutsu
to many pauses inbetween samurai's combos make it look really jank not really good weaving tools and large attacks that leave samurai too exposed for being attacked.
also katana can be used both hands. two hands or one handed but two-handed offers more more powerful. where one handed lacks power. animations of samurai must have more masterful graceful strokes while having powerful slices
if they gonna do anything for samurai need make techinques and combos flow more steamlessly in there combos. current system where have 3-2 buttons and get sticker isnt really how it works dont feel current samurai is right direction coming forward. honestly takes too long to get iajutsu. where at most samurai shouldnt have press that many buttons to get to point where they are able to use iajutsu without putting themselfs in physical arm. what i like see in evercold is have samurai be more graceful with there strikes and moves cause they also have le
Iaijutsu on samurai should be the focus. and it should have better combos better animation. are filler combos should be shorter but are iajutsu should be more deverse and and cooler smoother combos added to it. want feel as if my samurai is actually doing damage with non-stop graceful flow of damage. instead of having one big attack takes nearly forever to get too and only does mid-damage at based. remeber this class was designed to be melee version of black mage. however black mage always seems to out damage it. rather that be yoshi-p favorism or what but for me samurai really janky and needing love for quiet sometime. almost not fair how better monk feels to play compared to samurai. note the word feel not play how something feels to play just as important as how it actually plays.
what saying instead of having muiti different 1.2.3 filler combos we should have iajutsu chain combo that dances with our filler or weaves with it. that way you have your grace and power weaving more action packed.
so instead of it being 3 different combos it work like this you have 1-2-3 each of these are start of iajutsu combo. then combo into iajutsu. 2-3
press start of the combo then go into iajutsu be like 1--2-3-4 , 2 2-3-4 or 3. 3 .3 4, 1 4 3 2, 4321 then 5th attack being high damage devestating attack first button is start of the combo is not iajutsu but 2-3-4 after is iajutsu but need press first button go into your iajutsu combo . 5th attack is last attack in combo it is different depending on how you do your combo as long as numbers are with as long different combation of 1.2.3.4 however its 5th attack thats important not how you use 1.2.3.4 just think of this graceful seamlessly flow unending melee attacks that result into big attack. as long as you dont do same combo twice as long as its within 1.2.3.4 in any combation iajutsu continueless gain more and damage as fight continue on your 5th and final attack doing massive damage. however this would mean that global cooldown of samurai attacks would be around 1.5 or even lower so seems like seamless barrage of slices and attacks
instead of having 3 different combos 3 stickers and iajutsu that is boring
also each 1.2.3.4 combo is different they dont have same animation if you use 1.2.3.4 it have completely different animation art style then 2234. there is alot different combations of 1.2.3.4 want you think of this like ninjustu on crank without the bunny without failure if you use 1.2.3.4 combo twice in a row you just automantic use your ulimate 5th move and start over idea is make these combos lightening fast. so full combo has same speed as black mage finishing 1 fire IV cast where you did 4 abilities where black mage only casted 1
this may be seem like monk but no its faster then monk way way faster. there reason why your gear is called slayer gear cause you slay things how its so post to be.
these combos are unique cause no pause inbetween there lightening fast. at look flawless and smooth and beautiful while transitioning into another 1.2.3.4 combo of different combation. looking like endless barrage of slices. that fit perfectly together. even when do 5th attack. you can do many different combois within a given time limit then BAM! big damage
best way to explain this is put onion in a blender turn it on for 30 seconds. 4 buttons change 4 different buttons press one of those "then bam" like watching anime and anime girl gets hit by trunk-kun at top speed. completely recks that poor anime-girl
