there is hidden job in this game. Its called getting rich. gonna teach you basic methods of doing so. however this requires use of brain power and little bit of math. first we must understand your servers or data centers eco.

once you figured out what items to sell on your own server. now you must figure out 5 things

1. how long will it take for your items to sell? (this is very important cause if your are limited 2 only 2 retiners you want your items sell rapidly so have more room on your retiners sell items next day

2. how many of same item must you sell. now selling items 99 stack isn't always correct anwser sometimes its better to sell small stacks. or sell them in ways watch you know more appealing. and affordable to the buyer. not really losing gil in doing this

3. do not be too greedy must be clever with your business. selling items at very expensives. does not help you, nor does it help the server. idea is make gil not waste time.

may attention to market board if notice someone "put a heart" near an item normally means someone really want this item be warned that other players also seen this heart. so you need beat your coup. show that your item is worth their gil other the worthless

gil making is ruthless you need be ruthless to dominate the markets. and for personal gain

4. do not over bloat the markets with prices of items that no one at that level will want to pay for be smart put yourself in buyers shoes ask yourself if i was that level would I be willing pay that much gil for that item

also under same breathe collectate all the items took craft that item. crystals what not. we call this labour fee

everyone has there own individual labour fee. my labour fee for low level items is 200-250 gil + market value

if the market value is too high. I undercut my comp. make my item more compealing to buy if my comp buys my item sells it for price they trying sell it for i still winning now they have items on market board that no one right mind will buy. and am profiting from there misfortune.. like i said making gil is ruthless.

5- Retiners - retainers are very important part of gil making process before you start your gil making jounrey you need understand that everything retiner does is give you profit. select propar jobs for them to level when they are ventures. also not everyone can afford 8 retiners. so we gonna stick 2 retiners you get for free

your retiners can become a combat class. a gathering class but they cannot becomes crafting classes if you choice gathering class keep in mind that you must have at least gathered item at least once before you can send them on venture for it. i regress

lets talk about gold value each one
Fishing retiners do not let you fish every fish you can catch in fishing log only few select ones. these fish can and do have value in market board in some cases most part its slow. i give fishing retiners a C rank in gil making

Boteny/Miner Retiners - are a goldmine. only reason they do not rank higher then hunters is that fact that have make sure you gathered each item at least once. some of these items are not so easily gained. locked behind times in the game. for limited time however if you are into heavy into crafting these are best way get lot things otherwise take you days to get. lot of FC houses use some of mats these can there missions i think. but non the same benefits outway the cons this gets A rank from me

Hunter Retiner - is my opinion is number 1 gold making retinner to have not only save you lots of time on grinding your combat jobs gear can be given to them once your done. for most part they always bringing home something nice if send them on quickies they bring home dungeon gear. I give hunter retiners and S rank specially if you have desync and everyone should have desync. at least 1 level30 crafting for this amazing ability this gets S+ Rank from me

Desync is amazing you dont need be best crafter in world just need be level30 get desync now anytime do dungeon and find items you do not want you desync them for crafting mats and crystals this pure gold mine. not to be understatement stuff you can get by doing desync

depending on my methoid making gil i either have boteny/miner retainer or 2 combat retainers if dont really like gathering . id never suggest too anyone make fisher retainer on there free retainers cause it doesn't much give you any gil value. once upon a time it did but not anymore. fishing in this game is like expensive mini game then actually gil maker. there are some special items can get from fishing do sell for a bit. but they are not plentiful either way you have wait bit for them to sell. however if you do go to mogstation buy yourself another retainer

Either someone needs iron ore, or they don't. The price is set by supply and demand. You should undercut whoever else is selling by 1 gil and the price will slowly drop until either people stop trying to sell it or someone buys the cheap stuff and pushes the price back up. If your server is too expensive, people will go to other servers to buy it, so you might want to undercut the price down to at least close to the value on the cheapest server.

for most part you not wrong but some points here nice points. this doesnt always work if your limited to selling only 40 items between 2 free retiners need take consiteration how long . however luckly iron on my server sells rapidly specially iron revets cant sell fast enough. who wants stick items on your retiners that actually takes 2 months to sell. am looking at you fisher

Eh I always undercut by like 10% or more rounded to the nearest thousand, not because I think it's the best way from a profit point of view, but because I don't have the patience for MB PvP, larger undercuts make people less willing to undercut further, and if it becomes "too cheap", they are welcome to buy mine and try to resell, idc where the gil comes from or what is being done with the item after it leaves my hands.

Anyways for anyone willing to read this thread here's a fun random money maker for y'all: If you can get up to Elemental Level 60 in Eureka (and ideally farm the Baldesion Arsenal for Elemental +2 gear and a physeos weapon) you can organize or join farms for Moisture-warped Lockboxes. These lockboxes have a 23.4% chance of containing an Allagan Platinum Piece worth 10,000 gil when sold to vendors. 30ish minute farms can easily net you 70+ of these pieces, or around 700,000 gil purely from vendor sales, with a relatively efficient group.

If you are level 100, just solo Loboskin maps, they drop expensive items pretty easily. The items such as the Jaja Gural tree, training mat, the bouncer glam set, and the Everkeep lamp all range from 300k to 4 million. This map is extremely easy to solo.
