    The idea of switching up classes for a dungeon run or 24 man raid come 2.0...sounds cool! Kinda of sounds like TSW. Here is a warning to SE though. From what I read, some of the best gear is going to be coming from raid/instancing. Because people can be so diverse and switch up classes...everyone could roll on any said item.

    Regarding the OP the only thing that really bothers me about this system is the distributing of loot. Who gets what? Will SE restrict class change once you enter an instance? I personally don't know that much about the looting in game now. Maybe one of you all can shed some light on my issue. But I hope that SE will rewards everyone for completing a raid run. Be it by credit(seals), gear, gil or crafting items.

    If anything, just take out the option to switch jobs/classes during raids. I hate class switching midraid/fight.

    It's been like that in FFXI too. Since everyone can be everything, everyone can loot everything. Then the players comed with some systems to prevent abusing, like a tier list of jobs you mostly use/like, and then you get a priority on that classes. Something like that will come here too.
    in pugs it's a different story. Maybe we'll keep the current system "choose an item, and you'll loot only that"

    Just imagine, having multiple alts, and doing GC for all of them...
    OH THE HORROR!

    IMO, the game would lose it's charm if we were restricted to one-class-one-character. I've always loved the concept of being able to level every job. And honestly, that doesn't effect my gameplay. If anything, if I were restricted to one job, I would be bored as hell! I wouldn't make a new character for a new job, because that means having to do ALL my quests again, Company quests included.

    I've noticed that this doesn't seem to effect party-making either. Sure, there are some people who have every job at 50, but they can only be one job while we're fighting. We still have to contact certain friends/LS mates for a tank, a healer, some ranged, some DDs. There are only a few handfuls of people who have eeeverything at 50, and I'm certainly not one of them. But if they changed it to one-class-one-character, I would probably quit from boredom. (sorry that this is so long)

    Keep in mind that the multiple classes at 50 thing is unique due to the lack of progression introduced to the game due to its remake and circumstance. I 100% agree with what your saying however I feel that much of this could be solved in 2.0 in 2 ways. First, by making the xp required to gain levels after level 50(dramatically ) this will require each person to spend a great deal more time leveling and learning one job or class. 2nd, they need to diversify each class by adding multiple jobs for each class. In this way more people could focus on the 1 or 2 classes that have the jobs in them they like to play, and narrow down the field with what any one player can be working on at one time. In the gamescom demo is showed that the xp gap from 50 to 51 was like half a million xp. While I realize that could just be because it's a demo, I personally would love to see the higher levels require great deals of time to progress through. I miss the days of having only one or two main classes.

    So instead we're supposed to make an alt for every battle class... and pay an extra $3 for each one? so people who want all 7 classes get to pay an extra $18 a month? and do rep/faction-type quests for every single one of them individually? get 9 hamlet seals for every single one of them individually? and then whenever that other class is needed, we just log and switch characters anyway, and still get to play whatever job is needed for any particular content?

    lol. great idea. -_-

    anyway, are you posting on an alt? you have one battle class at level 18. how could you possibly have been negatively affected by this in any way?

    This is the biggest thing I love about FFXI and FFXIV besides the graphics.

    It's also the game where people gave you funny looks or called you dumb for wanting to focus on one or a handful of jobs instead of leveling and gearing every available option.

    Multi-classing and the job system have always been a double-edged sword. All we can hope for is that job performance is balanced so that one does not easily out-perform the other. That way the guy with all jobs at level cap isn't massively superior to the guy that has one tank job and one DPS job leveled and geared.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
    * Design ideas:
    Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
