You're trying to refute the point that gear is important, citing a single fight that can be done without. Your argument doesn't support gear not being important, it just says that it isn't necessary for one fight.

Saying Ifrit (Hard) can be done naked does not mean the original person you quoted is false when they say that gear is important.
