    Immersive Ideas for 2.0

    Currently we have weather effects such as rain and I'm sure that it will be no different in 2.0. However, how cool would it be if after a certain period of time of your character running around in the rain you can see water dripping off your armor. And better yet, in combat, it would look amazing if while you swung your weapon doing a WS where you can see particles of water just bursting off your blade. Or for ranged attacks you can see the arrow cut through the water. Even if they see this I don't know if they would consider it, but it would make it look pretty cool.

    Too much load for an MMO to handle, for now at least. Maybe in the future!

    Judging from one of the videos I think I was actually able to see an Arrow fly out a bard's bow rather than just a hit animation. Baby steps.

    We can see the arrow being loosed from the Bard's bow in the current version.

    I would say its too much graphical load, it could work in a single player game but MMOs are a lot different. It could be in an update but it could still lag a lot of PCs, if they do add it we will need the ability to toggle it on and off.

    it'd be awesome if in snow or desert zones you could actually trudge through the snow/sand in certain areas similar to the effects in Journey. your char walking up the side of a hill to a Outpost Aetherite camp leaving a snow trail behind them as they do so during a blizzard would be amazing

    Also one of the things that annoyed me about XIV was that when you run through water streams there wasn't much of a splash, also when it rained there wasn't wet squelching noises or particle effects either. but in XI they did have splashes and when it rained the grass was wet and water would splash a little as you ran.

    I don't know anything about programming, but I think that the new graphics engine will make it more of a possibility. Even if it was only treated as a simple effect rather than physics driven. Like the splash from the swing was a fixed particle splash that was the same every time. That would still look really cool and probably wouldn't be too hard of a load.

    I think there's a lot more immersive features that could/should be added before things like this are considered. Most things like this are just causing unnecessary load on your machine and slowing down your game, and lag isn't really immersive, is it?
