new player. used tales boost. problem

My friends invited me to play this and gifted me the tales of adventure thing when i hit 40 and unlocked my ninja soul. Now my character is locked to pretty much only daily roulette xp and it's killing me. cause new game + gives no experience. I can't even go back to the story to level . Like please, even if it gives no items. let us get XP from the story in new game+

Unfortunately, you might have to restart if you don't want to do the MSQ to that point either, since NG+ is meant to re-live your fav MSQ moments again not to power level your WoL if you never did it. Also, it's odd they didn't also gift you the story skip since that would solve your main problems here.
