I'm looking forward to our chars being treated as Legendary warriors from the past, people who have forged their own legacy.
I got really tired fast of some of XI's story arcs where they just treated the player as "Some body who just stumbled in at the right time who may be useful" and keep treating you as a no faced character.
So i'm all for cool looking Legacy people =o

One thing I really don't like in some of the cutscenes in both FFXI (haven't played XI in years so might have been changed) and FFXIV is when my character gets saved by some other NPC. This have somewhat been fixed in the job quest cs and the last story cs. But please S-E no more of these cutscenes where our characters look like a damsel in distress. :P

Most of it he was bare chested. He went from being a slave to being a pirate to being Austrian, to being Jason Momoa. Life was rough but he had it easy. He never had to deal with U'ldah!

Agree so hard. I hate when NPCs treat you like a nobody after you've been saving the world for so long. Its like 'wtf, if not for me, that monster woulda crushed your home and your whole family with it! And this is like the effing 20th time I've done it! Recognize my deserving of respect!!'

Totally agree. Sometimes I just want to go one on one with some of the NPCs. Some such as the ones in the MRD guild (but there are plenty of others too) who look at you like you're some little runt.

I wonder how many gods they've killed recently.

It'd be good to have a renown system where you ARE treated like a runt at first but as you accomplish more, NPCs treat you with more respect.

This especially annoyed me with the Sandoria' mission quest line.
You Save the Kingdom, Teach the Elvaan the errors of their ways for acting arrogant and when you go back to speak to them Out of Mission or as a Citizen of another country they treat you as a peasant :x
worse was Shanototo she appeared in heaps of missions but never recognizes you via low level quests/addons/expansions ._.

That would be a good system that if you were doing a lv10 Quest with 0 Renowned they treat you as a nobody for some common chore "Hey scrag go get me this and be quick about it" , but if you accept the lv10 Quest with 50 Renowned they actually recognize you and treat you better "Really? you have time to help me with such a trivial problem... i possibly couldnt ask this of you"
