The world is open and vast. We just don't see it anymore. We have gotten used to instant travel and quick duty roulettes to get anywhere and do anything. The "instant gratification" of getting what we want and need. Try this for sport: start from your city-state and traverse to Living Memory using your mount only. No flying. No teleportation. Just you, your mount, air ships, and ferry/boats. And just for kicks, only your Company Chocobo.
