Yep i think with this list people can stop bitching that summoners not going to have anything to summon while most in that list are gods in the storyline there a lot that just going to be strong summons for you to use. Top of that you still need a summoner in your party if you every do get a primal in your free company so you can use it in battle.

I do hope in 3-5 years we be at least 50% done with this list.

As of now that is PURE SPECULATION. Information as of now says that the free company can call on a primal (not a summoner). The idea of the summoner being able to was stirred up by the community . We shall see.

Also, who says that we wont see "weaker forms" of the primals themselves? There is too much to speculate on what Yoshida is willing to do. On top of that, he hasn't officially given us information on the summoner class. He said they will make an appearance. Only thing that we've seen is a leak on the main website. However, if the leaked information is going to stay "as is" with no editing..... Then, will shall see our little radioactive squirrel make an appearance. It's safe to say then that we shall see some of the summons that are listed above. But what gets me thinking is that Carby is just for the Arcanist class. Summoner class has to be able to summon something > Carby.

It can help people separate the wheat from the chaff so to speak.

I don't think that when people complain about summoning in XIV is because there are no summons, i think their point is, when you think FF and Summons what comes to your mind is "Ifrit,Shiva,Ramuh,Leviathan,Bahamut,Odin." Those are the staple of the summoning class in FF, and no other MMO has that, their summons or pets or w/e are all crap in comparison.....

I really dont see the reason to make the summons into gods yet again, they did that in XI, why do it all over again :/

I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope this isn't the case. I'd much rather have different summons for SMN, and Primals being Free Company only.

Same reason Bahamut is the King of Wyrms/Dragons in almost every FF game he has a storyline relation -- It's a good scenario. In FFXI they're the gods who essentially helped shape the world much like the crystals in most amano era FF games, there's nothing wrong with that. In FFXIV they're primals which are basically a type of god, but they don't govern the world like they did in FFXI but they do have an effect on it.

Odin as well is usually a 'god' type character in every FF game he's appeared in. Ramuh as well is a hermit type of character if there's a backstory to him so it's just common for them to continue trends just like Cid is almost always a mechanic of some kind with few exceptions.
