Proposed solution to increase glamour plates

(This is about increasing glamour plates, NOT about the number of gear pieces/outfits in our glamour dresser.)

I remember hearing that part of the reason we don't have more glamour plates is because it would be more data to be transferred back and forth for world and data center travel. So hear me out:

What if, on our home world only, we had access to an extended glamour plate collection, and we could freely exchange glamour plates between our "main" collection (the one that we have already) and this extended collection at a glamour dresser on our home world? It doesn't necessarily solve every issue that people have with glams in FFXIV, but it would solve the issue of having to delete glams to make room for more.

What are y'all's thoughts on this? (Aside from "overhaul the netcode".)

So long as that gives me a way to sort my plates manually, I'd be so down.

Sounds like a good idea. Even just being able to rearrange our plates at all would be nice.

I've mentioned a similar idea before elsewhere and I definitely agree this could be a large improvement. Have something of a "glamour closet" where we could store extra/inactive glamour plates and also have the "active glamour loadout" that we have now. If there's some concern over "inactive" plates storing data that is no longer accurate to the actual player character then run a check of the data when the player tries to load that "inactive" plate into the "active" loadout.

Obviously, as said in the OP, this doesn't completely solve all of the glamour and glamour storage issues that are present in the game (and I do hope we get some sort of proper glam system update/rework in the future) but this could at least work as a stopgap for the time being.
