SE should make an NPC of Rokien in ARR since he's essentially become a meme on this forum, follow it up with a neighbouring NPC that immediately dismisses whatever the Rokien NPC says and tells the player to move along.

People who don't want quests to be marked are the same people who just go online to any database or fan sites and find out what to do. So really, there's nothing preventing you from playing that way if you don't want to be given any information by the game. Just go on and talk to every single NPC out there hoping to find something, never read anything other than npc lines (that means no quest summary), and never access your journal. Maybe we should even change it so that quest journals have a vague description of what the quest is about so that you can never, ever, finish quests you undertook a long time ago because there's no way to know what to do unless you look it up online.

This is an MMO, there are no secrets. People post quests online and that info gets passed on to game lightning fast. And personally, I disagree with anything anyone suggests the moment the proposal amounts to adding an unnecessary hinderance to the game. Making me alt+tab and look for my quest giver or what to do online instead of just seeing quest and quest destination markers is exactly that.

    We'll take it into consideration.

People look up the big things, not the little things. Nobody is going to look up *Dead man on a boat*(not a real quest) if it doesn't hold any meaning. Why do all quests have to have a "reward" instead of the reward being fun. That is true, that people look stuff up, ONLY if it's something they need, though, in ffxiv I have yet looked up anything online. I ask people, communicate, work together. As jyxn said people looked for all of the twelve before SE was liek HEY THEY ARE RIGHT HERE EVERYONE! Why do they have to do that? That's my question, it's fine if MOST things are marked by se heck that's cool, just not everything, leave some to be explored by the people, even if they do post it online.

Today I wanna talk about the unknown(OOooOOooooOOOO). Naa, nothing scary, but I want to talk about what we will know and what we wont know, when 2.0 comes.

Is every quests going to be marked(!)? Why not have hidden quests? Maybe hidden treasure, with a one of a kind item? Nm? The list can go on. It's fine knowing what there is to do, but I also wanna stumble on stuff as well. Meaning, if I do talk to random npcs or venture out, it will be worth while to do so, either for fun or rewards.

Now, I get people wouldn't like one of a kind items, I do however, especially just for esthetics. Though to make it not so one of a kind, we can produce fakes of the so called item. Leaving it rare, but where anyone can have it. If one finds it of course!

Hidden quests don't have to be coming from npcs either, you can be walking around and see a dead corpse and have it start an investigation quest. You can do a lot with this.

NMs, I think some agree that there should be rare nms, those could be these unmarked nms (nms that don't show on the map).

Just some thoughts I had, so please leave your thought, hate, anger, anything!

Tldealio: I don't see why everything has to be marked via on map or with (!).

I just want secret stuff in the game, that's all I'm asking~

I'm all for secret stuff but not to sure I would support secret quests, all this will really do is make people use a 3rd party website to look up all quests and that gets old fast.

People won't(some will) look up quests that don't have significant rewards.

This is an interesting idea if the internet was resourceful as it was 15 years ago. With such an easy access to the internet, all you are doing is delaying people 2-3 minutes to find the location. Also, you do underestimate the power of the internet, people will put those small quests in their database, and achievement seekers will use it.

That's not the point I KNOW that people will use the interenet to look up stuff, that's not the point.

I get the point here. It is the fact that someone some where will have to find it. That person may be remembered for all tie or lost in a memory in a matter of minutes. There are those that do not like to play with too much online support. I like the idea. It would be a little something to look for. Would not be much different just would give people some more pride in the fact the found it and then did it. I would only make some higher level quests like that. No lower level. If you are high level you usually have more time.
