Character creation feature expansion request megathread

Since 8.0 will be bringing an expanded character creator, lets share some different options we'd like to see and customization options that have been long requested since day 1. I'll start:

All races:

• Base skin textures, including plain, blushed, freckled, and body hair styles for skin.
• An "Age" slider ranging from youthful to aged. This would add visible aging/wrinkles to the character's skin and face, through a normal map texture layer.
• Muscles available for all. Add the muscle normal map to every race and gender(yes even if someone wants to be a silly muscled Lalafell!)
• A tattoo layer, where you can earn different tattoo styles to put over your body. This would apply over the base skin layer similar to the legacy mark but on the full body.
• Body shapes: standard, thin, muscular, chubby. Just basic skeleton morphs to give players more variety.
• Add more faces, and make all the facial options such as scars, makeup, and other things usable between every race and gender. I want a scar on my Lalafell's face!
• Add more robust beard options to every race. I'm aware the bearded look isn't very popular in Japan, but many western players like to have beards on their characters.
• An option to change the base animation set on characters so that your personality isn't locked to your race+gender choice. For example, a lot of Hrothgar players want to have less hunched over animations, and many Lalafell players want to have less silly/joke emotes. Let players choose how their character's personality is like.

Hyurs

• Eyebrows for male Highlanders is a big one that people have been asking for for a long time.

Miqo'te

• Add options for different ear styles (you can easily allow Miqo'te to feel like a different race by allowing a wide range of variety of different tail and ear options)
• Tribal mark options/layouts. Maybe let you edit the color?
• More tail options, and perhaps increase the poly count on them since they are a bit flat.

Aura

• Let you choose horns individually from the face.
• Allow players to change the colors of the tail, horns, and scales.

I probably missed some of the stuff that have high demand, so please share any additional options you'd like to see added!

I'm a Highlander player. I recently went through Stormblood and while I did that, I kept remembering the "lore" I found about Hyur Highlanders, specifically the reason why they shaved their eyebrows. Compared to the poor beaten up bastards I met through the whole of Gyr Abania, that piece of lore made less and less sense every time.

Hopefully by the new expansion they will add some actual, real eyebrows, but considering the game has been going on for so many years, and how they seem very stubborn about their decisions, I doubt it.

Love the thread! Here are some of my ideas:

All Races:
- sliders for facial features so that we can change the tilt, size, angle, spacing and height for individual parts (like eyes and noses).
- unlock hairstyles for everyone.

Miqo'te & Au ra:
- tail accessory options perhaps?
- more tail options would be lovely

Viera:
- cotton taaails. I know its not lore accurate but please...

Hrothgar:
-face options that are not tied to hairstyles
-fur colours being divorced from hair colours
-more fur patterns

Some things are already mentioned but repeating them for emphasis.

All races:
- Not just more faces but also more options/customization for currently existing faces. Sliders preferred to adjust position, angles, shape and size of features, and well as thickness/softness/curve of eyebrows, length of eyelashes, eyelid type/depth. If sliders for all of that somehow aren't doable, then at least give more options, especially for features that still look very different after the graphics update.
- More features that are exclusive to each clan, to make them feel more unique and add traits from lore into their appearance.


Miqo'te:
- More tail and ear options.
- Ability to have white, black, or other colored ear tips for both male and female Miqos.

Seeker Miqo'te specifically:
- Shorter more catlike ear option, and short bobcat tail option.
- A sharper pupil option, since the graphics update kind of rounded them.

Keeper Miqo'te specifically:
- Wolf or foxlike ear options, with tail shapes to match.
- Fang length slider, or at least long/medium/short options, with the current fangs being medium length.
- Unique Warpaint options for both male and female, since that's supposed to be a cultural thing Keepers are known for.


At minimum, I just want my character to have the same looking personality and features as she used to have, man.

I concur with everything in the original post and especially about the body shapes: we need chubby body shapes, muscular, thin, and average for all at a minimum.

All races:

• Belly buttons
• For men: nipples.

Midlanders:

• More beard options, such as full beard and stubble beard independent of face type.
• Body hair options, such as arm, chest, and leg hair so we look more realistic.
• Thicker eyebrows.

More exclusive things for each clan, or additional clans yesplease! Absolutely against the mix and match nonsense diluting racial profiles tho'.

Deffo anti cat-as-dog. It's exceedingly lame.

As for Roegadyn; I always loved the direction they took Merlwyb in. She has the flavour of Wolf while not being outright furry, kinda like Wolverine(X-Men) and other such "beastly" flavour designs. You don't need animal ears and tails slapped on things to evoke that shape/ essence!

So more exaggerated sideburns in different textures, some tufty eyebrows and more beards/ mustaches that lean into this would be smashing.
Chonky Galka Canines would be a neat option too- It can be considered a recessive trait, something that lessened with intercultural relations favouring a "friendly face".

An option to remove Smudge for Othardian Roegadyn.

More scars and tattoos.

And my personal want; Nose blush. I want a pink snoot. uWu~

Thanks for this topic, and I'd love more ears, tails, and bun tails, even if it's not 100% lore accurate for vieras too. Also, I missed the black tipped miq ear hairs, but I get it if they ran out of time for new hairs, but they were one of my fav former catboy hair options too.

Finally, I know this is a pipe dream, but I wish they would re-adjust the shared common hairs for Vieras since their heads are a different shape that any hair without bangs it gives them a giant forehead for all genders since their release dates. Their racial hairs are adorable, but I sometimes miss my former catboy hairs, but they look quite terrible with my M bun's giant forehead lol.

Then the very last request would be to un-genderlock the new glams and upcoming gear sets that's not on the cash shop, like giving everyone shorts, skirts, or dresses too.
