best stats for a paladin

The problem I have with the class forums is that aside from a few people, a lot of the regulars post their opinion as fact. This is wrong because noobs grow up with that in mind and spread it to others and soon half the server is spreading disinformation. People like Grey and Churchill show up and try to set the record straight and then people attack them for telling the truth.

There's good information in many of these threads (such as Carraway's (ninja edit, got it mixed up with Brannigan for some unknown reason) Bard Guide) but you need to dig through them like a damn archaeologist to find the stuff that is true and the stuff that is totally false.

You see in end-game activities it's about respect. When I started doing Garuda or AV 16 minute runs I respected other people's time. What that means was that I was prepared for the content before I even went in. There is nothing more frustrating than doing something that is supposed to take 16-17 minutes then have people bumble along with 0 preparedness and it ends up taking 1 hour. In order to respect other people's time people need to be armed with the right gear choices for the right times beforehand and a knowledge of the content and your role in it. When misinformation is spread you end up having people come to content unprepared through no fault of their own which wastes everyone's time, even if they came in thinking they were prepared.

That's why information from high-end players is valuable. They've done the content and know what works and what doesn't. When I started doing high end activities I scoured the BG forums and other related forums for everything I needed to know and it helped me immensely. There is nothing worse than being the weak link and causing a wipe. So yes they do have a right to tell people flat out if their opinion is wrong.

So bottom line to everyone who wants to toot their own horn. Be 100% sure what you are saying is true before you pass it off as fact. If it isn't state that to be the case and ask for advice from the high end players. If it's an opinion frame it as such.

After I got a solid explanation did I argue any more for DEF over VIT? No, I didn't. I even changed my stragey for melds based on that thread.

You had absolutely zero reason to believe you were right because you blatantly said in the very first page that you didn't know what defense and VIT did and asked for testing. You should have no say in the topic because you don't understand it. How is this concept hard to imagine for you? This is exactly why I told you to stop posting. You do this all the time. You have no experience or understanding and are unfit to give advice.

If you were wondering, the proper thing for you to have posted in that thread is "Why did you choose to meld VIT over DEF?" If you would have liked a longer post, you could have elaborated with how you think the stats work, and why you think that defense is "vastly more beneficial". Anything else is, in my mind, and through your own admission, out of line.

There is a reason I don't ask for testing on things because I do it myself or go to Kaeko's blog. When I make a post, I double and often triple check numbers and reference parses and test summaries. Until you at least put forth some effort into research and optimization, you honestly should stop acting like an authority of paladin. Posting a screenshot of some pants with lifethirst that you wanted to blow up in the first place, M.eva boots, and constantly making excuses for other things seems like very low effort to me, like you don't care about your paladin at all.

And trust me, I get it, you're low on gil and don't have much chance to blow up HQs and IVs 24/7 like others. Fine. I get it, you're not in the best linkshell and it's fairly social and you help each other with AFs and have fun in skirmish. That's absolutely fine. Enjoy the game however you want. I am not and will not mock you for those things.

I updated my STR/MND caps page with testing on MND -> AA damage

It doesn't show my testing because there was no need to parse it.

The just of it is, MND increases AA more than STR.

Since MND effects WS, AA, Healing Magic Potency it is by far the single most important stat for PLD.
(and of course the Enmity Multipliers, but it's capped so low...~240)
