    QoL: Remove timer

Let me slowly farm dungeons/variant dungeons/deep dungeons without worrying about a timer please. I like to afk and do other stuff without losing progress.

WoW can offer this with their instanced content, why can't FFXIV?

For one, removing instance timer = making instances permanent is a surefire way to increase serverload as a malicious actor (bots creating instances of dungeons to such a degree that it will hog server resources), so that's why there is a duty timer & an AFK timer.

Normal dungeons and variant dungeons typically take no longer than 20min... you can't play 20min at a time without going afk? As for deep dungeons, part of the challenge of deep dungeons on the later floors "is" the time constriction, where you have to make careful decisionmaking on whether you spent Pomanders or avoid certain rooms. So... no?

Appreciate you taking the time to reply but yeah, sometimes I need to AFK a lot and quickly. I see this being an option/not a problem in other games so I just thought I'd mention it. So... yeah.

Pretty sure WoW will kick you from a dungeon if you go AFK for too long. While there's no timer for how long you can be in a dungeon, a lot of that has to do with their dungeons and raids taking far longer to complete. FF14's raids are broken up into single boss duties, where as WoW raids have several bosses that don't reset for the week even if you leave.
