Thread: Major Ping Problems days after the 7.5 update

Everything was going smoothly until some of NTT's nodes started messing up, and I figured I'd bring awareness since I'm not sure if I'm the only one having this issue. I already brought something up on the Technical Support subforum, but just in case they close that(like they did the other one when we still were having issues at the time) I'm opening one here.

This is the tracert I did and it seems Los Angeles and Dallas are having issues on their NTT Network. Game's highly unplayable since my inputs are getting eaten too. I didn't feel this on patch launch, but it's weird that it cropped up later.

I envy your ping, as a South American, lol.
But I've also noticed ping spikes from my regular 190 all the way up go 550.

I second this, slightly before the patch and untill now I have been getting frequent spikes and even disconnects at random intervals. Every other game works fine, so there is definetly something going on with the XIV back-end

Looks like this is going on even this morning. Something's definitely wrong with the nodes.

I've been having ping issues for a while too here in rural west australia, even before 7.5, I thought it was my internet because they did do some sort of "upgrade" (that admittedly improved my download speed even if it did ruin my ping) but recently I have wondered if maybe it's actually the game that's the problem, hard to test it against anything else because all my clear memories of what it was before that are based on XIV

I'm unfortunately dealing with the same. Weirder still, it was fine *on* patch night, then things began going sideways 1-2 days later.

Weirder still is it doesn't affect battle content for me too much, I still get occasional rubberbanding, Pokeballing, and input delay, but it's really egregious on gathercraft. Really severe input delay (as in, buttons won't light up for 2-3+ seconds after input), lag (~5 second delay during fishing, for instance, based on my Cast timer macro), and even disconnects.

I really hope it's something as "simple" as one of the NTT nodes acting up. I'm on PS5, so my troubleshooting options are really limited.
