Retainer buddy system

Was wondering if we could get a party member of one of our Retainers, Similarly like we would summon our own chocobo in battle. Instead of Greens we would use Ventures to summon them.

If they are a gatherer or crafter they can do they\\'re roles as they follow you.

What do y\\'all think?

It would be nice, and we did in fact have an NPC companion of sorts back in 1.0, but then they replaced it with the chocobo only to then abandon said chocobo.

With the addition of BST and its gimmick being companions though (albeit monsters), I don't know if they'll give us NPCs in the over world for other jobs to use (and if they do, they would likely just default to the Scions instead of any kind of custom NPC).

Not bad, but have to make sure on what it can do and limit functionality because of bots.

Funny that you mention because 7.5 did update Chocobo companions, they have some new animations and now react to /pet and /poke, and in the Live Letter that revealed said update, YoshiP said to "please think of this as a starting point for chocobo updates" and that the new reactions are "Just a little step to show we didn't forget", so we should expect Chocobro updates in 8.0, even if not clear when at this point.
