Ok so how about losing 0/12 on a Class specific weapon to make a relic? wont u be frustrated
to tell u the truth it can be fixed in many ways u dont even imagine the OP got some weak spots which are "The Over capacity of materia" think about it again what if certain PIMP! Materias can only be obtained from a specific gear or weapon or even monsters and HNM that would max a player lets say 50+ STR materia or Store TP+30 and Attack power+50
The thing that is over frustrating is trying to double meld a for a relic "Savage might" for drg is over expensive and not to mention that its rare as hell , or trying to Triple meld a set of gear to Max out ur character.
So good sir would you rather have a PIMP!! Materia that can drop from an HNM or weapon etc or trying to triple and double meld and waste ur gil on a luck based factor where some lucky SOB "sorry for that word" can get it triple or double meld 1/1 while u attempted 1/12 or even more.
am not glorifying VII or anything too i feel over frustrated over this game luck based factors which are so many that even people complain about it

Doesn't say you can swap midbattle, we can already gearswap/having gearsets currently, we just can't do swap it midfight unless you are a mage or go passive mode.
Right now you can barely swap gear out of battle without grinding to a halt, I really hope you don't think they purposefully designed it like that lol.

Of course no, but just because they are bringing gearsets into game doesn't mean they will let you change midfight because they have said before that they are against the idea of changing clothes midfight. Will they change their mind? maybe, but there was this long thread before anyway where majority says they do not want mid-fight gearswap.

What Char said.

I've always thought the idea of it even being possible to quad/penta meld ridiculous. I'd rather melds be capped at triple and, maybe, increase the stats of the higher quality tier IV materia to make a perfect meld something that is obtainable and, therefore, something players can realistically compare to a piece of rare/ex gear.
A piece of rare/ex gear is pretty strong, comparable to triple melds, but even the possibility of quad gear makes that dropped gear underwhelming.
Me from another thread, assume that the crafted gear is also melded.
"I still prefer the XI model. Have some equipment slots of crafted gear be fairly easy to obtain but have very good stats and only beaten by the hardest content at the time. Then some equipment slots dungeon gear be fairly easy to obtain and only beaten by a HQ crafting proc of an already expensive recipe.
Something like a crafter can make a pretty good, inexpensive body piece for blm that they use for most of the content, and then they finally replace it in the last or second to last dungeon. Then have one of the first dungeons drop a ring for blm that is some where between the NQ and HQ crafted rings."

Wait, it's what we should be saying it seems :P The fact that gear changing is horrible because of the engine currently doesn't change the fact that you can do it. You can't be saying they purposefully designed it to be slow and laggyThe fact is, you can change gear outside the battle now and you will be able in 2.0, just more easily/faster.
It would be nice if the upcoming crafter's AF added +Materia Meld Success a certain percentage.
Personally, I'd like to see a materia system that's a bit less complex. Limit 1 materia per slot, if you remove it from your gear, it breaks. For it to really work, the dev team would have to add new, better materia options.
