Rename the EC Tank Subrole Split From Main/Off Tank to Buff/Debuff Tank

A lot of WARs, DRKs, and GNBs are voicing frustration of their job of choice's position as a designated off-tank in FFXIV. Functionally, these tanks are going to have to take damage and be able to tank just as much as the main tanks will. There's too much single tank content and too much content that doesn't enforce a strict role adherence to complete that they can't. Additionally, the split is similar to the pure healer/shield healer split, but the healer subroles are named after a part of their function rather than on-the-fly player behaviors that carry baggage of what the term means with them.

Since PLD and the new tank are going to specialize in reducing damage by buffing themselves and DRK, WAR, and GNB are going to specialize in reducing damage by debuffing the enemy, I think the role split should be named Buff Tank and Debuff Tank. Hopefully this will mitigate the bad feelings currently going around and the inevitable arguments that will arise when a DRK pulls instead of a PLD or when you pair up with a GNB for dungeon.

Although we don't know, they said they will reduce the damage taken by allies and damage dealt by enemies. So... reprisal, Shake it Off, Dark Missionary, the actions they already have... they didn't even remove Reprisal, Divine and Passage from PLD. Like... the distinction between MT and OT seems like it will probably be a load of nothing.

Its all just speculation though. We don't know how many supportive abilities off-tanks will have and we don't know how much damage we're going to be taking in high end content with them saying they want the bosses to be more active

There's so little information on how tanks will be changing in Evercold that I'm not even going to bother worrying about it until its closer to release and we got more concrete information available.

Maybe they shouldn't of called them "Main Tank" and Off Tank" but "Buff Tank" and "Debuff Tank" just sounds nonsensical. Right now tanks provide damage reduction for the party through both buffs and debuffs, such as a Warrior using Reprisal and Shake it Off.
