Stuck Preparing to Craft

Date & Time: First happened 4/30/2026. Most recently happened 5/1/2026 at about 12:30PM EDT
Frequency: Rare
Class/Level: Any DoH
Steps:
1. Complete a craft as any DoH
2. While still kneeling in the "preparing to craft" state, switch to a DoW/DoM class

When in the kneeling animation as a DoH and switching to a battle class, sometimes the game bugs out. It lets you change your class, but then you're unable to do anything after that. No moving, changing class again, or logging out. Everything you do gives the "Unable to execute command while preparing to craft." error, despite not being on a DoH anymore.
I've only had this happen to me once, but I've seen it happen to a couple others. There's probably a timing to it, but I haven't been able to replicate it on demand.

This is probably coincidental, but so far this has only happened while crafting outside of a sanctuary.

Can confirm this just happened to me, Was doing some crafting, went to switch to a DOW class and got stuck unable to do anything, I was inside a sanctuary though

This just happened to me, was unable to escape without closing the game via task manager - I couldn't even press "Exit Game" while stuck preparing to craft.

This has just happened to me as well, in Limsa Lominsa, in front of the market board.

I did the same thing as you: I crafted an item, exited the menu and tried to switch jobs.

it seems it requires a certain timing to do, as i couldn't replicate it easily

A quick update:

The glitch happens if you do the following:

- Open the crafting log.
- Craft an item.
- Close the crafting log.
- Switch to a DOW/DOM jobs DURING the getting up animation (the transition between kneeling and getting up)

Only way to exit is by forcing the game to shut down.

I managed to replicate it multiple times that way.

This happened to me tonight, but it happened while switching between crafting jobs while getting up. Had to close the game via task manager.

(It was in Worlar's Echo, I crafted my society quest turn-in on carpenter because that's maxed, then tried to switch back to armorer to hand the item over to the Pelu mountaineer.)

this happened to me just now in cosmic exploration, though it was from trying to change my gear while crafting. can't move or exit the game either

both times crafting in gridania, it seems like it doesn't actually complete the job swap based on my most recent login (got stuck when trying to swap from LW to BS)

I guess the answer until it's fixed is just do things slower but it's a bit obnoxious that's happening.
