I have never seen this before. The fact you're able to get onto Aether but can't even log in just shows that you're screwed for even trying the new EX(because Primal doesn't have a whole lot going for it). Like, seriously: Just lock the place down if it can't be logged into by Visiting Players.

The new stuff cannot come here fast enough...

I wouldn't se surprised if this error message is also shown to create an illusion that game suffers from success and has many players currently in. Same as the fake queue that they introduced.

The queue isn't fake. I happens regardless now because all logins to the game are batched in groups.

Yeah its a pretty bad system.

I stayed on Aether and kept trying to log in like every 5 minutes and eventually got in.

This is going to negatively impact people's experience with the new ultimate, so its definitely a strange choice.
This arbitrary cap on how many people can be on Aether at a time is so strange to me given Endwalker had way more people and shit ran just fine back then.

Got it, it's one of those "it'll be done when it's done" features. If it's done by 7.51 they'll release it then, but if it's not, they're hedging their bets.

They also said that they will do a staggered release of releasing in Japan, then NA, then EU, rather than all 3 regions at once, indicating it may not even be beholden to any given sub patch, and is a special case.
