With the realease of Patch 7.5 there has been a change to the Data Center Travel system that has been quite personally frustrating. Previously, when you DC traveled to a server if you made it there you could immediately log in. This is no longer the case as the system will now let you tranfer to congested worlds and then give you an error when attempting to log in and tell you to try again later. If you just wanted to be on the DC as a whole you can just world visit and try again, however this can make getting to specific servers incredibly frustrating.
Previously, if you managed to get the character over to your desired server you could freely log in and out so long as you did not return to homeworld or transfer away for up to 30 days at a time. With the new system even if you log out on the server you wish to stay at when you later attempt to log in you can still be blocked by the congestion message and forced to attempt log in over and over until you get lucky.
This effectively means that the only way now to garuntee a spot on a high population/activity server is to be a native character, or once there, never log out of the game.
I speculate that these changes are likely in preperation for the cross-region duty finder and party finder systems coming later in patch 7.5X which undoubtably is coming with several major server infastructure changes. I would just like to personally ask for a return of the old system because I prefer it being difficult to get over but once you are there you are set. Instead of rolling the dice everytime I turn on the game.
