a few different type of crashes

lately ive been having a lot of crashes that all have went through beftween 5-15min of playing. sometimes they are silent crashes and the game just closes other times it a ffxiv_dx11.exe+ crash.

ive tried updating drivers, reinstall drivers, disabling overlays, running the game as administrator, i even brought my pc in for a repair check and it came back with all software and hardware in great shape with nothing wrong. windows is updated, and ive tryed reinstalling the game multiple times with no success.

We apologize for any inconvenience you have been experiencing. There are a number of situations that can cause the error you are describing. Please try the following troubleshooting methods in order to resolve the issue:

- Verify the files within your Steam “Library” folder, right click the game you are having trouble with, and choose ‘Properties’ > ‘Local Files’ > “Verify integrity of game cache”. This will verify that the game is installed properly.

-Launch FINAL FANTASY XIV as an administrator through Steam by going to the game in your library, then navigate over to 'Properties' > 'Local Files' >'Browse Local Files', search for the .exe file for FFXIV, then right-click the file and click 'Properties' >'Compatibility' > check 'Run this program as an administrator'.

- Clear the Steam cache by opening the Settings panel by selecting Steam. Once there go to 'Settings'. Once in the 'Settings' panel, select the 'Downloads' tab. At the bottom of the page, click 'Clear Download Cache' and then select 'Okay' to continue the process. Once the cache is cleared, please log into Steam again.

- Uninstall and reinstall the Steam application.

- Make sure Steam and FINAL FANTASY XIV are installed on the same drive. If not, we advise install both on the C drive.

- Ensure Steam is the only program running in the background. Close any additional programs as they may interfere with the game's running environment.

- Make sure Steam and both FINAL FANTASY XIV are allowed through any anti virus software or fire walls.

- Update your Windows Operating System using Windows Update. Make sure to install any optional updates as these aren't installed automatically.

-Perform a clean boot by doing the following: Open the Task Manager and select the 'Start Up' Tab. disable everything here and restart the PC.

So I’ve tried the download for the game on my ssd, where my steam is downloaded to, and on my external hardrive. Same dx11 error occurs. I’ve verified the game files, launched as admin, disabled all background apps, end everything else suggested and still get the same error crashes

We appreciate your response and we apologize if the issue is still persisting, despite the troubleshooting steps that was provided previously. Could you also please try the troubleshooting steps below? Kindly let us know if the issue is still happening afterwards.

- Switch between full screen and borderless windowed modes.
- Please try adjusting/lowering the resolution [one of their screen resolutions is running at 3840 x 2160, if they can try lowering this down].
- Please try running the game as an administrator.
- Please be sure to disable or remove any overlays (Discord, Steam, NVIDIA etc.) as they may interfere with startup.
-Make sure you're not overclocking.

Disable Full Screen Optimizations. To disable this, please find the "ffxiv_dx11.exe" and right click it and select properties. Then under the compatibility tab there will be a check box labeled "Disable Full Screen Optimizations". Check it and click apply.

Open the Nvidia Control Panel and going to 'Manage 3D Settings'. From here, select 'Program Settings' and select Final Fantasy XIV. You should see an option to select the GPU. Make sure it's set to your dedicated graphics card (it may be set to 'Auto' by default).
