You misinterpreted what I put. I wasn't saying that removing abilities adds uniqueness; I was saying that they were removing abilities but making the things they keep be designed in a unique way.
For that first part, to me that shows a fundamental misunderstanding from the devs regarding the complaints many healer mains have had. When people said they were tired of Glare spamming, it wasn't because it looked the same every time they attacked, it was specifically because of how boring always a shorthand to say that spamming the 1 button was boring. And with this change, not only is that 2nd part not addressed, but they even removed Dia.

Also, I feel its too early to say that they're designing things in unique ways. So far we've seen some pretty unique stuff like the PLD cover+riposte and the DRG PvP LB being added, but looking at BRD, BRD feels like a reskin of current Summoner, just with songs instead of summons. You get 3 mini phase you go through every minute without being able to repeat and then you get a big damage phase before repeating. BRD even lost something that was now pretty unique to them among DPS: Nature's Minne and multiple DoTs to manage.

We're gonna need to see other jobs in the same role as the jobs they showed today before we can say they're truly making every job unique. For all we know, the other MT will get the same parry mechanic, other melees will have positional like DRG and all the healer will follow the WHM mold.
