The cycle of the new expansion loop is in full swing.
Don't worry, I agree with the desire for complexity and you're not alone with those thoughts. Unfortunately, I came to understand the reality of the development path we have been heading towards for a while.
It won't stop them, and they'll continue their legacy of "Remove2Improve" your DPS kits by reworking them into ones with even less depth than healers offensive options in 2022. If there's an outcry they might make another lodestone post tailored to the affected job but not revert it, of course
If there's any time to be voicing these kinds of concerns it's definitely now, it can at least partially influence the outcome of things if there's enough attention and discussion about it. But yeah, I hate to have this feeling but the cycle will continue whether we are here playing or not, I was reminded of a post I saw ages ago around early DT times that will probably follow what will also happen again with 8.0's release, I'll include it below.
"Just wait for the expansion tooltips to release! The Media Tour jobs aren't final, stop making rational predictions based on previous behavior!" <-------- YOU ARE DEPARTING
"Just wait until the savage patch! " < ----------- EN ROUTE
"Just wait until 7.1!"
People are harshly reminded that Media Tour jobs can actually get worse to launch, and the things that make sense just don't happen. Or issues that are obvious the same day tooltips are posted don't get fixed.
Remember, someone would have to have seen the positive reaction and excitement, and then deliberately choose to remove it from the game. A decision like that would have been made by multiple people before being approved for live.
I knew it would not stick around. Because nothing good ever happens. Get ready for the SGE equivalent of Single Target Doton rather than have even the illusion of something like Miasma II returning.
Imagine getting rugpulled on your own minor job optimization before launch, without the typical rework.
Another disappointment to add to the pile. Can't wait to do this song and dance again in two years. Time is a flat circle.
Yup. I guess some players want to press the same few buttons over and over again to easily beat content and get rewards with minimum effort, because they are too lazy to learn a fun and complex rotation.Ruining all the jobs and then completely abandoning them for one button combo PvP jobs is something I never would have thought of.
I'm just so glad they decided to pull this off after Dawntrail ruined what was once fully complete jobs (dragoon, dark knight ect) making them shallow vessels of their former selves.
"but you can just play the reborn mode!!!" What's the point if you're dealing less damage and in White Mages case you need to stand still to cast abilities instead of being a phys ranged.
At least have the heart to revert the changes Dawntrail did to fun jobs that didn't need to be changed in anyway before you take them out back and send them to the shadow realm.
I don't enjoy VPR, PCT, the "new" SMN and PvP because of this new braindead "combo" combat style... I can't believe every job will be dumbed down like that. It's so sad.
Professional lurker.

I find this post to be kinda weird since it looks like all you really play is DRG and DRK and haven't played too much at all this expansion.Ruining all the jobs and then completely abandoning them for one button combo PvP jobs is something I never would have thought of.

How did they ruin Dragoon and Dark Knight?
It's getting even worse once you realize that devs have made these changes because of Switch 2 release as they know switch 2 players won't be able to utilize that many buttons and will be left behind. Just like with controllers. Then you understand that these changes weren't because "they listened to the community". Nah, it was all part of the plan of less buttons = easier gameplay for switch 2.
I don't think that many buttons mean complexity or some thing, but when you remove RNG from jobs, those jobs become more and more homogenized and less unique and fun to play. Removing dots and you get a boring job. Remove rng and you get a boring sloppy job where you already know what to press. Why do that? Oh because it's hard to track all those things from a small view point... right...
I will wait to see how expansion goes but don't fool yourself into thinking that this company or any company in general cares about its public. It's all about money and careful planning with sweet-talk to ease the unrest.
Removing damage from plunge is one of the worst mistakes, removing some other abilities as well (which sadly I forgot names). Dragoon was already massacred with less charges on one ability, less jumps, etc.
Idk about EW DRK being a complete job, but I was forever salty they changed it from Stb DRK. Ahh.. I miss it.Ruining all the jobs and then completely abandoning them for one button combo PvP jobs is something I never would have thought of.
