I think that's the general opinion I have seen everywhere.
WHM kinda dragged down the excitement, especially with the wording from the devs of making it deliberately easier.
For me it's really just the details that worry me. I am a fan of job identity in the form of the PLD counter or the DRG high jump, that's what I always wanted and I do think merging buttons is not a bad idea itself. The more I think about it, the less I am honestly missing what we have right now.
The details imo are the big question mark now.
Will we have better skill expression (let's be honest, we barely even have any of it right now anyway)?
Will the rotations truly be more free?
PLD and DRG give me hope, WHM kinda dragged it down and the action heavy combat gives me a bad feeling for casters regarding cast times.
Nevertheless I think it's the correct step to take. Changes are long overdue and Reborn mode will still be in the game.
There is lots of hyperbole everywhere from both sides when in reality, both have good arguments imo.
I am not too worried about skill expression because frankly, there isn't much to loose here, WHM included.
Edit:
The thing which I am actually worried about the most is the worst part of the raiders taking over the discussion.
I really don't want the whole thing with job identity, like the DRG jump, to be sanded down just because it impacts the Savage scene. This has potential for out of the box thinking imo.
