    WHM kinda dragged down the excitement, especially with the wording from the devs of making it deliberately easier.

    For me it's really just the details that worry me. I am a fan of job identity in the form of the PLD counter or the DRG high jump, that's what I always wanted and I do think merging buttons is not a bad idea itself. The more I think about it, the less I am honestly missing what we have right now.
    The details imo are the big question mark now.
    Will we have better skill expression (let's be honest, we barely even have any of it right now anyway)?
    Will the rotations truly be more free?
    PLD and DRG give me hope, WHM kinda dragged it down and the action heavy combat gives me a bad feeling for casters regarding cast times.

    Nevertheless I think it's the correct step to take. Changes are long overdue and Reborn mode will still be in the game.
    There is lots of hyperbole everywhere from both sides when in reality, both have good arguments imo.
    I am not too worried about skill expression because frankly, there isn't much to loose here, WHM included.

    Edit:
    The thing which I am actually worried about the most is the worst part of the raiders taking over the discussion.
    I really don't want the whole thing with job identity, like the DRG jump, to be sanded down just because it impacts the Savage scene. This has potential for out of the box thinking imo.

    True. The problem is that they aren't even trying. How can they have all this amazing stuff planned for Evercold, but ... they cant make the jobs have a bit more complexity without making the skill floor more difficult?

    It'd be really nice if they didn't heed just one side of the spectrum when it comes to job design.

    Resource pooling is the easiest way to giving them some depth. The average Joe can still use their resource as it comes up, they can press their star diver that gives a dmg buff and not make the best use of the 10%. It wont be a massive damage increase, even now if you dont even press 2 minutes at all you barely even slow down dungeons. But it gives us the option to make the job feel more involved, require more attention and focus to perform well. How are even enrage checks supposed to work now when everyone will be doing virtually the same damage? We won't get another Tyrant savage ever again?

    Yeah, it's so funny that people are concerned about the state of the game in the future in regards to their playstyle preference, especially since SQE hasn't had a great track record.

    At least now I have faith in SQE since they made all these other amazing changes, so I am definitely going to keep bringing it up in hopes that the devs go "hmm, maybe we should raise the skill cap a little bit without compromising on the accessibility, ease and job identity."

    "but you can just play the reborn mode!!!" What's the point if you're dealing less damage and in White Mages case you need to stand still to cast abilities instead of being a phys ranged.

    At least have the heart to revert the changes Dawntrail did to fun jobs that didn't need to be changed in anyway before you take them out back and send them to the shadow realm.
    I'm starting to understand why Devs have been so reluctant to change anything in this game. You all whine constantly over stuff that is almost a year away from even being finished.

    I mean lets be real just play reborn mode if you really dislike the changes that much, I don't think its going to be that much of a downgrade likely a tiny difference which 90% of players aren't optimisers.

    I for one welcome change Paladin frankly looks really cool and yeah its not perfect I don't want auto combo forced (Please give us the option to toggle these sorts of things) but at the very least if jobs are going to be took in a direction similar to pvp I'm all for it. And If I dislike it that much at least I can play reborn mode and cope.

    I do have concerns such as whm no cast times on attacks and healers in general but I don't think its bad as a whole.

    I for once very happy with new changes. Will definitely be abandoning the old job system.
    I just wish they didn’t get rid of unique storylines in the job quests back in Shadowbringers.

    You misinterpreted what I put. I wasn't saying that removing abilities adds uniqueness; I was saying that they were removing abilities but making the things they keep be designed in a unique way.
    For that first part, to me that shows a fundamental misunderstanding from the devs regarding the complaints many healer mains have had. When people said they were tired of Glare spamming, it wasn't because it looked the same every time they attacked, it was specifically because of how boring always a shorthand to say that spamming the 1 button was boring. And with this change, not only is that 2nd part not addressed, but they even removed Dia.

    Also, I feel its too early to say that they're designing things in unique ways. So far we've seen some pretty unique stuff like the PLD cover+riposte and the DRG PvP LB being added, but looking at BRD, BRD feels like a reskin of current Summoner, just with songs instead of summons. You get 3 mini phase you go through every minute without being able to repeat and then you get a big damage phase before repeating. BRD even lost something that was now pretty unique to them among DPS: Nature's Minne and multiple DoTs to manage.

    We're gonna need to see other jobs in the same role as the jobs they showed today before we can say they're truly making every job unique. For all we know, the other MT will get the same parry mechanic, other melees will have positional like DRG and all the healer will follow the WHM mold.

    PLD looks cool, can't wait to see the other evolved tanks.

    White Mage is evolving, but backwards.

    Viper is already below 16 buttons, evolved viper gonna be even less somehow.

    Except buttons don't = uniqueness, Evolved BRD is quite literally copy pasted Endwalker SMN. The entire job is revolving around collecting your 3 candies, then using a big attack. This is the type of job design they want to force us into for every job, first with SMN, then with MNK, now with everything. They are removing all uniqueness from jobs and taking anything unique they have about them away, where are BRD's DOTs and procs? BRD was already one of the more unique jobs the game had because of the songs not being directly aligned with the 2 mins, along with procs determining how you played your filler, it wasn't hard by any means, and yet they've gone and lobotomized that.
