As a physical ranged main losing buffs has been a blow as I personally found a lot of enjoyment in lining up raid buffs and executing mechanics while bursting in synergy with my party. I understand that many disagree with me and didn't like the 2 minute meta which is your opinion I'm not devaluing it but as a BRD/DNC I am truly mourning buffs.

My concern comes from mostly the BRD build they showed off in the dev panel. Managing dots was a huge part of bard and now it seems to be gone except for applying them for a few ticks after a song. All OGCD's seem to be a proc which takes away any skill at all. Keeping EA on time and being punished if you drifted and lost a use (i.e. a free song proc) was a key skill to mastering bard and its just gone. Poof...hit light up button.

Now for the big one...WHERE THE HELL ARE PROCS! Bard and Dancer were so unique with their RNG aspects and now bard seems to have lost all of it. There's no decision making in whether you risk not refreshing your dots straight away to send a refulgent arrow or hit iron jaws and maybe override the proc. There's no having 2 pp procs and having EA coming up and deciding on if you spend 2 stacks for less potency or use EA for a 3rd and risk overcapping. The RNG was FUN and it made bard well bard.

There were like 19 other jobs that didn't have RNG and now Bard has lost something that made it special and I doubt Dancer will retain its procs once all is said and done.

I'm going to miss watching my song timers, while watching my dots and spinning all the plates that current bard has.

Overall I'm happy for all the people who love the look of evo mode but personally I'm kinda shattered at the direction the game is going. I don't like action RPG's. I don't play them. I don't like FF16 combat and thats what this is.

Before anyone says "you can still play reborn mode" the devs have said evo mode will be "slightly stronger" and given that in 7.0 apparently PCT was only "slightly" overtunned I don't believe them. There will be an evo meta for high end content in PF and reborn will be locked out. Mark my words. Also new jobs won't have reborn so its obvious that if 8.0 is a success this legacy mode will be phased out.

Also the move to having a top tank and a cuck tank is kinda weird and will make PF fill much slower.

Once again before anyone gets their pitch forks this is just my opinion and initial feelings. I am going to be miss what we have a lot and think evo mode is indeed an easy mode dispite what the devs say, heck the word easy was thrown around like 5 times in the presentation.

I have done savage, ultimate, normal, alliance, chaotic but feel like I can't follow the game into 8.0 with what we have seen. If I wanted to play dragon age veilgaurd archer I'd play that game. But I don't.
