So Gunbreakers have a Gunblade.
A gun is generally used at a range, so why isn't the Lionheart Combo useable at a 25y range?

Range requirements should really just be removed from all skills at this point.
Gunbreaker Gunblade does not shoot projectiles so it makes no sense for Lionheart to be ranged.

Because Gunbreaker blades don't fire bullets. The trigger releases aether through the blade. Garlean gunblades are not the same thing as Gunbreaker weapons.

Gunbreaker gunblades are based on the FF8 Gunblade. There is no bullet involved at all. Instead, firing the round from its chamber creates a vibration through the blade increasing the power of its slash. This is the fundamental design of it, the FF14 style does this by using aether charged ammunition.

Gunbreaker (Bozjan) Gunblade - Cylinder contains a blasting charge filled with aether, not a bullet. When you pull the trigger it explodes creating a strong vibration and a shockwave for critical damage in melee strikes.
Garlean Gunblade - Essentially a firearm with an oversized bayonet. Fires actual bullets.
Hope this helps.
