I'll fail regardless of trying though, no amount of effort will change that, and my contribution however much or little will never matter. 20 kills or 20 deaths, same difference, and after years of putting up with the mode getting worse ever since Dawntrail launch I'm done caring. It can be second monitor content while I do/watch something else, and I understand now why so many others give up and stop trying too.
I meme that I'm almost always on the 3rd place guaranteed team (or am I?... well, my WR suggests I'm not but it does feel that way hue). I haven't been in a group since mid ShB and that was like, thrice, during that period. Can't honestly say I ever feel "useless" when by default I'm alone, and it's felt like 98% of the time.

I'm sayin' there's always ways to harry opponents. Almost always. Maybe it's a mindset thing, I'm not folding my hand if I'm confronted by a group while by myself. That's when things get started! And no, no sometimes... sometimes I even turn it around, whether it is with direct defeat or I've successfully distracted that group away from places and situations they really should be attending to. Become that spontaneous objective hahaha~

Maybe you'd do better by standing slightly away from the pack, that's what I do. Might make you more visible but at least it's not the often pretty random cleave damage eh. You'll see what you'll see comin' at ya better. Iirc you play MCH in PvP, maybe consider playing a different job? That one's quite reliant on how a group moves a fair bit of the time (I know, I've recently picked it up and been having quite a blast as it's the polar opposite of what I've played for a long time now). It's not impossible to veer off, but it is a good deal harder as you need to plan ahead with how skittish so many teams are.

I like my matches when they're evenly furnished aggression wise, but honestly I prefer it when I'm against premades, if they have to be present. I couldn't be more bored when I'm on the side of one or two (and they're commanding... <yawn>)
